Hi
You have save option, but out of the missions, I mean. You can save your progress in Campaign mode when you finish your mission. Inside mission you can save and exit to continue when you want but from the point you went out of the game. You cannot save to recover a save point inside the map. This is ironman mode and it's a core mechanic of this game.
We really don't think that there is "an overwhelming majority of our customers" but the game was designed to be a continuous challenge for the players and ironman mode is the core of this challenge. Indeed if a saved game option would be added the game would lose it essence and of course the big part of its enjoyment.
