[2019] How to complete the first horde mission (600 infected)

So these missions are fails unless I've taken a specific tech tree?

Why is there even a choice if this is the case? This wasn't clear at all, it took me 9 defeats to finally overcome this and from the difficulty shift from without using spikes to with it's clear that it's designed with barricades in mind.

As tester i have played a lot of time all the stages. I only suggest that maybe it can make it easier but i have won them withou it.
