Some skins were like 300 MB and uncompressed. Now, we will generate and keep different quality on the server. So, it could greatly accelerate download & reduce memory usage. In a later approach we may give options to select quality. But later.
The 2D skins database is being processed to optimize ingame download (that was the #1 issue for connecting servers) Started Monday, it will take 120 days to complete the 80K skins. But yes, we will increase the computational power to have it done more quickly ^_^
