1033s	survival mode in tribes of midgard
1036s	i am so excited because i have yet to
1038s	dive in um of course we've been playing
1039s	a lot with the team but i've yet to play
1042s	the live version uh so that'll be a lot
1043s	of fun you'll get to see me uh maybe
1045s	stumble around a little bit uh try to
1047s	figure my way out in midgard uh you'll
1049s	see all that later so we're looking
1050s	forward to it

1064s	of jump in recap a little bit of what
1066s	happened this past week so first we
1070s	obviously had the season three inferno
1071s	saga launch uh it feels amazing that
1074s	this is out in the world now uh we've
1076s	been you know listening to all your
1078s	feedback so far uh we've been very
1080s	present in the discord there's been a
1082s	lot of chatter there thank you so much
1084s	if you're not in our discord yet please
1085s	join it's a great place to find a group
1087s	to play with uh to chat with people who
1089s	maybe have questions and you need some
1091s	answers
1092s	just hop in our discord and we have you
1094s	covered with our amazing community there

1101s	warmed the team's hearts we've been
1102s	sharing your your comments about the new
1104s	survival mode uh to the team directly

1108s	that all their hard work is now out in
1110s	the world and you're all able to have
1111s	fun and play it
1113s	we've of course seen that there's been a
1115s	couple issues here and there we're
1116s	working as hard as we can to resolve
1118s	those and we'll be updating you on
1119s	discord as soon as we can
1121s	the number one thing we wanted to
1122s	mention uh just briefly was the building
1125s	system uh it is one of our top
1127s	priorities to increase the build limit
1129s	right now
1131s	so we have that in mind we'll keep you
1132s	updated as to when that is going to be
1134s	possible we want to make sure nothing
1136s	weird happens uh there's no stability
1138s	issues or anything in the world you're
1140s	playing in but it's absolutely one of
1141s	our top priorities to increase that
1143s	build limit so that you guys can build
1144s	your your big viking mentions that's
1146s	that's the bottom line and i want to
1147s	build my viking mansion too so just to
1150s	keep that in mind absolutely um but yeah
1152s	if you ever have any feedback i know
1153s	there's a lot of feedback rolling in
1154s	across our socials just you can also
1156s	join our discord we have a suggest an
1158s	idea channel there where you can toss
1159s	your suggestions and other people can
1161s	upvote or download them depending on if
1163s	they agree it's kind of fun

1423s	excited to have you here today to talk a
1426s	little bit about obviously um the
1427s	animated trailer uh matthew is the
1430s	supervising director at titmouse
1432s	animation
1433s	um and matthew would you like to tell us
1436s	maybe a little bit about you first of
1438s	all before we dive into the trailer and
1440s	everything maybe a bit about um who you
1442s	are what you do at tit mouse
1445s	yeah well thanks for having me um
1448s	so at tim mouse i was they have these
1450s	things called special projects and this
1452s	was part of special projects was working
1453s	on this trailer and so i was the
1457s	supervising director which means that i
1459s	oversaw boards designs
1461s	um i was in edit so every every aspect
1463s	of the trailer i was in these meetings
1465s	or in these rooms
1466s	i'm giving notes feedbacks
1469s	approving stuff
1471s	and so
1473s	how i got started
1474s	um
1475s	you know i started to mask like
1477s	i mean in 2013 as a
1480s	support artist and then
1482s	no no my bad i was a revision a
1483s	storyboard revisionist
1485s	and i just work my way up i mean i've
1487s	i've worked in animation for 10 years
1490s	and so
1491s	i spent a lot of time doing
1494s	action
1495s	type um
1496s	productions so young justice just the
1499s	action the wb
1501s	dc superhero dtvs mortal kombat
1504s	marvel spider-man
1506s	x-men 97 so like i'm very like
1509s	used to doing action-oriented like type
1512s	uh
1513s	animated
1515s	i don't even know what it's called it's
1517s	just like animated projects so
1519s	uh tim mouse reached out to me for this
1521s	one
1522s	and i
1523s	originally was just like hey do you
1524s	wanna
1525s	do you wanna storyboard on this trailer
1527s	and then i was like yeah sure and then
1529s	while we're in the meeting they're like
1530s	oh we don't have a director and i was
1531s	like oh i'll direct this i mean so
1533s	they're like
1534s	amazing
1536s	nice
1537s	no that's so cool cool and then
1539s	storyboarding that is like the uh
1541s	initial like the drawings and the
1543s	sketches and then does that go all the
1544s	way through or is it more like the the
1546s	sketches that start the process
1548s	it's so storyboarding is like you get a
1550s	script and you go all right it's my job
1552s	as a storyboard artist is to flesh out
1555s	the script and be like this is what we
1556s	wanted to look like
1558s	animation so you're making the blueprint
1559s	for animation
1560s	so um i started with the back end
1564s	and then hiring oh storyboard front end
1566s	and we had a meeting and i was like oh
1568s	i'm thinking of these so i kind of just
1569s	like broke down i saw the shots in my
1571s	head but also
1572s	uh gave hiring like the creative freedom
1575s	to be like this is how i
1577s	see things but like if you have an idea
1579s	that you want to do go for it and they
1581s	they pushed it to me and i'm like cool
1583s	are we like oh a little bit like this
1584s	and then i did the back end which was
1587s	everyone gearing up in front of certain
1589s	so certain from here's a rival on or the
1592s	hell thing's moving towards certain on
1594s	it's mine because i had a distinct idea
1596s	of like how i wanted to do that sequence
1598s	so i was like oh i'll do it you know um
1601s	yeah one of my favorite sequences inside
1604s	of that animation hands down good job
1607s	definitely like a very culmination to a
1609s	very big moment a very like intense
1612s	moment at the very end definitely
1614s	yeah i agree yeah i think that kind of
1616s	yeah and i think that kind of leads us
1617s	into the first question we were gonna
1618s	ask which was yeah how how was working
1621s	on the trailer like can you tell us a
1623s	little bit more how that process kind of
1625s	began and then your pardon it through it
1627s	i know you mentioned the story barting
1628s	but when you first got it was there kind
1630s	of like a did you have that clear
1631s	picture of how it would look from the
1633s	very start or is it kind of like a
1634s	sketching iterative process uh to get
1636s	there to the whole to all the scenes
1639s	we had a we had a meeting and they kind
1641s	of showed
1642s	what
1643s	uh everybody's expectations were just
1646s	like we're thinking of these things and
1647s	i was like okay cool
1648s	um and then
1651s	we looked at there was like a script and
1652s	look at the script and just have me like
1654s	all right um can i do this can i and so
1656s	for introducing all these people
1658s	all these different characters i was
1659s	thinking like oh we need to transition
1662s	this way and and and do transitions like
1664s	this but also hey are you guys
1666s	comfortable that you start kind of in
1667s	daytime and we end at night i kind of
1669s	just like that passage of time and
1671s	everybody everybody's cool with that so
1673s	it's also reading script pitching ideas
1674s	seeing what people are
1676s	okay with doing and and then moving on
1678s	from there and so
1680s	um
1681s	we kind of hit the ground running so
1683s	like while i was figuring things out we
1685s	hired uh
1688s	juan to do bgs and he was creating
1690s	concept
1691s	while we were boarding and so while we
1693s	were storyboarding we'd send him panels
1696s	and then he would draw a concept or he
1697s	would draw a concept and send it so it's
1699s	all
1699s	it was it was different because most
1702s	productions it's like you just do
1703s	storyboard either there's there's uh
1706s	designs that are done concept work
1708s	that's done that they hand to the board
1709s	artist or its storyboarders do something
1711s	they hand it to designers but this time
1713s	we're all working at the same time and
1714s	we're all going there nice
1716s	and so it was kind of different but kind
1718s	of cool because then everybody's voices
1720s	is being heard and nobody's really
1721s	dictating anything it's just like
1723s	a true collaboration yeah
1726s	we're all working at the same time so
1727s	that that was really cool yeah no that
1729s	is really cool and as you're speaking
1730s	i'm kind of pulling up uh for those who
1732s	are watching i'm pulling up uh some
1733s	early sketches we have here like some
1735s	early storyboards i know you mentioned
1737s	something about the backgrounds um i'm
1739s	gonna pull up one of the i believe yeah
1741s	the environment sketches we have here of
1742s	the forest environment at night um so
1745s	this is i think really cool as well that
1746s	you had like of course all these
1748s	references from tribes uh on the on the
1750s	left-hand side there and then how you
1751s	adapted that to the the backgrounds that
1754s	are there now
1755s	um and i think that also yeah it also
1757s	kind of leads me into our the second
1759s	question which um was yeah how did it
1761s	need to yeah go for it go for it okay
1763s	cool yeah so how did you adapt the video
1766s	game aesthetic into the animation
1768s	because it is like like you can tell
1771s	it's tribes of midgard inside of the
1772s	animation
1774s	guys i i think that
1776s	i'm glad if anyone can look at it and be
1777s	like oh this feels like tribes because
1779s	that was always just like a big
1780s	component of are we honoring the game
1782s	and so the bg team was really cool about
1785s	looking at the artwork and putting as
1787s	you can see in the designs like that's
1788s	them they would put it on and go like
1790s	hey notice they have this hatch line
1792s	work let's let's incorporate the hatch
1794s	line work into it or our
1797s	like let's go with this level of detail
1799s	or you know it was always kind of back
1800s	and forth about how much detail that we
1802s	wanted to put in the background
1804s	as well as like i would kind of
1806s	give notes on like where i
1809s	wanted certain colors like oh this is
1810s	golden alley i love golden hour and
1812s	anime so we we have to have this and we
1815s	had all the biomes in that one
1817s	we try to put all the biomes in that one
1819s	where you see like that vast
1821s	background so you can be like you look
1823s	closely like these are the certain areas
1825s	of the game
1826s	and then um me being like
1830s	uh we like how do we show scale
1832s	so i put
1834s	that uh crow throughout kind of
1837s	just to constantly kind of just show the
1839s	scale of everything but then
1841s	i love haiku that's one of my favorite
1843s	animes and then i just like all right
1844s	need hinata in this shot so i've just
1846s	been like just drawing i just kept
1848s	calling the crochet
1851s	even when starter gets up you see the
1853s	crawl fly past to let you know like this
1855s	guy's a giant so it's just stuff like
1857s	that but it is always i think yeah if
1859s	you look real closely on that on the
1861s	background in the mountains we put some
1862s	of the hatching work that you can see in
1864s	the game
1865s	in in this stuff uh in the backgrounds
1867s	as well and so
1869s	uh
1870s	we try
1872s	to always honor it by looking up what
1874s	the game has done and just making sure
1876s	like
1877s	are we are we treating this the same way
1879s	that they they would treat it uh and
1881s	that was different conversations we had
1882s	in our bg daily daily reviews yeah yeah
1886s	i completely see that like when of
1888s	course i even saw one of our mods in the
1889s	chat who was saying i think uh honoring
1891s	it is underselling it because it does it
1893s	does have those connections so strongly
1895s	with tribes i think we can all agree um
1897s	i even pulled up this picture here where
1898s	you were mentioning that you would have
1900s	the stills from tribes as you were
1902s	creating those kind of sketches and
1903s	backgrounds and even here with the one
1905s	with the river and you know the
1906s	reflection of the moon in the water
1907s	which is something that also happens in
1909s	game which is like a cool little detail
1911s	i like seeing these sketches here um as
1913s	well that's really cool i forgot i
1915s	didn't even realize when you said about
1916s	the raven um inserter and how it kind of
1918s	flies by i'm like oh i'm gonna have to
1920s	go re-watch it and like
1921s	check out that the raven is kind of like
1923s	that throw piece throughout the film
1924s	because yeah one of my favorite
1926s	transitions is when that raven comes in
1927s	and like envelops the screen and it goes
1929s	to the next transition
1931s	yeah i feel like there's a lot of small
1933s	details like this yeah
1935s	yeah the natural transitions are always
1938s	the best type yeah definitely cool yeah
1940s	and people in the chat have been uh
1943s	saying that that um well misfit said
1946s	that
1947s	you would uh participate
1949s	um he wanted to participate in in
1952s	storytelling and stuff and i was like
1955s	create create the goblin series create
1958s	the common series
1960s	yes
1961s	someone else said also
1963s	um i think yeah i was sagittarius who
1965s	said
1966s	adventures of otto so i think we have um
1971s	potential
1972s	and i know that that john john from guam
1974s	who is one of the uh people in the chat
1978s	also one of our mods who um
1981s	who has been asking for a try some
1983s	midgard animated series so i think this
1986s	is like the best moment to bring it up
1988s	because
1989s	someone who made the animation this
1990s	trailer is on tree on stream so you
1994s	heard it
1995s	yep
1997s	so yeah
1998s	if they want to make an animated series
2000s	i would love to like i would love to
2002s	definitely do an animated it's all it's
2004s	all upside you know north valley gearbox
2007s	and everybody else
2009s	i think everyone wants it

2018s	with me yeah we we all want it is it
2020s	going to happen we can't confirm
2024s	my internship ends at the end of next
2027s	week so i can't push much more than that

2040s	you know if they want to make more
2042s	you know in-game trailers on ford also
2046s	so whatever whatever to keep the
2047s	animated kinds of midgar going i'm i'm
2050s	ready for it yeah absolutely cool but
2053s	yeah i think even like um one of my
2055s	favorite parts of the trailer was like
2057s	the characters themselves and
2059s	how they came to life and i guess that
2060s	leads us to our next question uh which
2062s	is what was like personally what was
2063s	your favorite part of the trailer what
2065s	was your favorite part of inspiration
2067s	and working on it
2069s	oh uh it was weird cause the favorite
2071s	part of the trailer for me is
2074s	like like i said because i've worked in
2075s	animation for 10 years and you kind of
2076s	work with the same people depending on
2078s	what stupid you're at so for this
2080s	project was a whole bunch of new people
2082s	i've never worked with because we were
2083s	working what was cool about this we were
2084s	working with artists in canada ecuador
2087s	uh texas
2089s	philippines we're all over all over the
2090s	place so i get to work with like
2092s	all these cool different artists and and
2094s	they did a lot of phenomenal work that
2096s	i'm just like
2097s	oh i'd love to team up with you guys
2098s	again
2099s	on other things you know and so i think
2102s	that aspect
2104s	was my favorite is just working with new
2106s	artists and seeing what they can do yeah
2108s	um but then within the trailer itself um
2112s	what hiring did and seeing that being
2113s	brought to life so what what the board
2115s	artists did and seeing what the
2116s	animators
2117s	you know
2118s	you know did as well as like um
2121s	i boarded the scene where era charges in
2123s	the camera and then see
2125s	uh draft who animate that sequence add
2127s	all this like as well as louise who did
2129s	the layout was like hey can i do this
2132s	you know give her this little cocky
2134s	attitude and and because in the board
2136s	she flicks the hammer
2138s	but she's like oh i love the flick can i
2139s	add more so i always love stuff like
2141s	that where someone
2142s	on the either the board arts animator
2144s	just kind of wants to add their own
2146s	voice into the sequence
2147s	and so that is something i always try to
2149s	do as as a director just being like
2151s	when it's in your hands like it's you so
2154s	how would you handle this section how
2155s	would you do it you know
2157s	you're here because you have a voice
2158s	that we all like so like
2160s	you know how do you do this and everyone
2162s	kind of did that with this project
2164s	was they were able to
2167s	um do things in their own voice as well
2169s	stay true to what tribes was asking as
2171s	well as what tim house was actually
2172s	asking so that that was really cool yeah
2174s	that's awesome yeah um i did want to
2177s	mention that someone in the chat i think
2180s	it's uh
2181s	i think it's our producer zack it's that

2252s	entirely different for the survival mode
2254s	to see to see tribes in this way i think
2256s	even when the team i'd mentioned to you
2257s	matthew even when the team saw it like
2259s	it was very much a wow to see tribes in
2261s	that way and in that style you know as
2263s	opposed to how we've only seen it as a
2265s	video game medium so far
2267s	something i think is cool also is i
2269s	don't think in video game in general uh
2272s	correct me if i'm wrong i don't we don't
2274s	see that very often that a completely 3d

2278s	will have like a 2d animated trailer
2281s	which is like super cool to me yeah i've
2283s	definitely i've seen maybe a handful i
2286s	don't think it's super common i've seen
2288s	some um but i always appreciate to see
2290s	it and and how it's interpreted in like
2292s	the the animated style for sure

2312s	kind of like the sketch of how it looked
2314s	previously and then how that was
2316s	translated into animation um do you want

2319s	talk a little bit about that maybe about
2320s	certain how you how you handled such
2323s	like a big character in the
2325s	scene yeah for certain we always wanted
2327s	to emphasize like how
2329s	gigantic he was we always just like all
2331s	right we need to put trees in front of
2332s	him we need to scale the mountain so it
2334s	was always
2335s	how how do you show his height and power
2338s	and so the interesting thing about
2341s	um serter's design is for for the game
2343s	is very complex so how do you
2345s	how do you strip him down
2347s	um how do you make him look minutesing
2349s	so design wise we try to make sure he
2351s	had always had like hard angles and hard
2353s	and harsh angles
2355s	it's like if you really look at it's
2356s	like sharp triangles shapes and in most
2358s	of his work and then you know he has
2361s	this really cool glowing aspect in scar
2363s	so i any chance i can get i'd love to
2366s	make something glow so i was just like
2367s	cool we're going to cut this stuff in
2369s	and
2369s	and just trying to figure out how to how
2371s	to treat those glows um
2373s	i love the fire that he has on his
2375s	shoulder because it kind of like when he
2376s	when he comes up it's like
2378s	like oh he's about to go super saiyan at
2380s	this moment he's gonna launch the fight
2381s	you know he's just definitely innocent
2383s	in front of everybody and
2385s	i love that antonio who is
2388s	one of
2389s	the cfos of tim house he was
2392s	um in comp and he made those eyes glow
2395s	in the mouth glow that i thought was
2397s	really cool yeah we did have
2399s	like this like oh how do we make him
2400s	menacing
2402s	um
2403s	so yeah it's definitely a question when
2404s	it came to servers like how off how do
2406s	we show scale so in every shot of
2408s	certain
2409s	you know there's that three-quarter down
2410s	where you see how small the trees are
2412s	it was always these conscious decisions
2414s	of like you have to make everything
2415s	small around him take up most of the
2418s	screen at all times so
2420s	it's it's little things like that
2427s	because we're talking a lot about all of
2429s	the great things about the animated
2431s	trailer it's
2432s	it's always like really fun to to see
2436s	like all of the good things and how it
2438s	goes and we did want to ask because
2440s	nothing goes perfectly in life um there
2443s	i wanted to uh to ask you um if was
2446s	there anything that you would have done
2448s	differently
2450s	yeah
2452s	when we started it's funny one of the
2454s	major notes we got was adding the cats
2456s	that
2458s	and so
2458s	like i was like oh man i wish i didn't
2460s	because we did add them in a scene and
2462s	then we kind of forgot yeah to
2464s	consistently add the cats
2467s	you wanted to integrate them more into
2469s	the animation yeah nice
2471s	but
2472s	for i guess for the anime stuff um like
2475s	i said because we're all kind of working
2477s	together at the same time
2479s	i wish that um
2481s	to make processes smoother is that we
2483s	kind of
2484s	for animation it goes
2486s	storyboard layout than animation
2488s	so layout and animation were going on at
2490s	the same time but if we got animate and
2491s	it all worked but if we got
2493s	i think having layout done before
2495s	animation would have made things
2496s	smoother yeah
2498s	the other thing is
2500s	you know the beauty of working with
2501s	everyone in in different locations is
2503s	great but then
2505s	on different schedules
2506s	and so it was just like oh how do we
2509s	it just anything it's like just the
2511s	organization skills yeah well how do we
2513s	organize this
2515s	so that we can make sure that
2518s	you know it's not 3am with their time
2520s	and you know i'm like you know whatever
2522s	just little things like that but it was
2525s	new for me because i i live in la and
2528s	i'm used to working mainly with artists
2530s	in l.a so but now hindsight being 20 20
2532s	you'll be like okay next time if i wear
2535s	a project where we're dealing with
2536s	artists all across the globe is we have
2539s	to work with hours that are conducive
2540s	for everyone to to
2543s	meet and and just to make sure like
2545s	because
2546s	most of stuff at the moment right now is
2548s	work from home
2549s	if you need to file
2551s	you know
2552s	it's like oh man how do you get a file
2554s	if it's 5 a.m and they you know they're
2556s	not awake you know stuff like that
2559s	it's stuff like that it's just
2560s	organization
2561s	stuff um
2563s	is the things that kind of well
2565s	hopefully if we get to do more is
2567s	something that
2568s	we can tweak just so there's less like
2571s	little hiccups i'll totally get that

2584s	finn asking uh how was delving into the
2587s	mythology side was it something that you
2588s	were already familiar with in terms of
2590s	norse mythology or we're not so familiar
2592s	with in terms of all that
2595s	a little familiar a little bit a friend
2598s	of mine who um
2600s	i was talking to at tim mouse was like
2602s	oh mark and he was well aware but oh he
2604s	was excited and antonio who i mentioned
2606s	who was cfo titmouse who also was a fan
2609s	of the game and so they would like fill
2610s	me in on on on stuff and i'm just like
2613s	oh this is cool
2615s	um but like yeah most of
2618s	norse mythology that i've learned was in
2620s	sixth grade or

2623s	the loose north mythology you learn
2625s	while watching thor movies where you're
2626s	just like ah you know but those are
2628s	marvel films so they're not really
2630s	following to the t but a little bit here
2632s	and there there is a norse
2636s	mythology animated series that's coming
2638s	in netflix that i got announced and i
2640s	can't remember the name right now but
2641s	it's it's
2642s	oh i wish i knew more details about it i
2644s	could say but it was announced like
2647s	i think that one's going to kind of
2648s	bring more north norse mythology to the
2650s	forefront yeah yeah definitely for the
2652s	life of me i cannot remember the name
2654s	either but i think i know what you are
2655s	talking about but yeah i hope i think i
2658s	heard about it too yeah yeah it's not
2660s	vikings because i know that exists
2662s	already yeah that already exists but i
2664s	know yeah yeah we'll we'll remember

2698s	was the first like it was the first
2700s	design that sent and the kind of the
2702s	first design that we started on
2705s	so
2706s	when i got era
2707s	trying to figure out how to make era
2709s	animatable
2711s	as soon as as soon as we figured out era
2713s	it was easier to figure out everybody
2714s	else
2715s	and so
2716s	you know as you can see there's like
2717s	here's the rough concept
2718s	and then
2720s	you know go in and just go like all
2721s	right we need to pull it more in this
2722s	direction
2724s	and then we get notes um
2726s	as well and they you know we adjusted
2728s	those notes that's what you see the
2729s	revised if you notice era's hair is like
2731s	pull back more um she's got her pendant
2734s	or medallion
2735s	um
2736s	wrapping around the gauntlets and stuff
2738s	like that it's like little things that
2739s	make it closer to
2741s	um
2742s	how she is in the game but we did try to
2744s	simplify as much stuff as possible
2746s	because the simpler the designs are it's
2748s	easier to animate
2749s	so
2750s	um
2751s	complex designs work if if you're going
2754s	like if we have a feature schedule great
2756s	complex designs are amazing but um we
2758s	didn't have a feature schedule so how do
2760s	you how do you make these designs work
2762s	and how do you stay true
2764s	to the concept work and how they appear
2766s	in the game so there's a lot of those
2768s	things so
2769s	um
2771s	i think
2772s	having worked in animation for as long
2773s	as i have made it easier to kind of
2775s	figure out how and where to take ira uh
2778s	i i think
2779s	it's a lot of cool i mean i love her
2780s	color palette and the pelt
2782s	she's got like there's no stuff the
2784s	tattoos the scars it's like a really
2788s	love her design so like i'm
2791s	we see her at the end of the trailer but
2792s	i'm like oh man i wish we got more more
2794s	of that yeah
2796s	but
2797s	a little bit i at least try to be like
2798s	all right she's got to do something cool
2800s	you know so try to maximize what she
2803s	does as much as possible
2804s	absolutely

2808s	person in particular said this is good
2810s	stuff for cosplayers i've been saying
2812s	ever since
2813s	a while like saying like oh my god i
2815s	want to cosplay this character i want a
2817s	cosplay this character i get you

2825s	mostly as like a hell thing

2832s	um john who said uh do you think we

2845s	it would be cool but i don't think

2854s	images are very close to what i assume
2856s	you mean like in game yeah i like how a
2858s	lot of so much of the essence of ira was
2860s	kept and a detail that i really liked
2862s	from the trailer was even with her
2864s	medallion at the end when like you see
2865s	that kind of flying around and that's
2867s	animated as well i really liked that
2869s	attention to detail i thought like you
2870s	see all the physics moving i love how
2872s	you even mentioned earlier like she had
2874s	this kind of cockiness to her she's like
2876s	she knows what she's doing that is the
2877s	whole essence of ira she's prepared
2879s	she's a veteran she's done this before
2880s	she's ready to fight certain and i feel
2882s	like that so much of that is captured in
2884s	that last scene that i also agree it
2885s	would be cool to see more of that
2887s	earlier on as well
2888s	in it that's true

2892s	for ira for a second um
2895s	remember we had the pinned it and we
2897s	were like ah it's not gonna move like
2899s	yeah the minion does not move yeah and

2902s	animator made that thing somehow yeah
2905s	they made it because because at the time
2907s	we were just like how do we have time to
2909s	track secondary animation or do you just
2911s	move forward and they did it so i'm glad
2914s	everyone likes these we noticed it

2941s	watching you can see what my inspiration
2943s	is behind me so there's like it was like
2944s	here's some ava you know what i mean

2949s	you know i just saw dragon ball super
2951s	last night uh there's a lot of cool
2952s	stuff to constantly pull
2954s	from from dragon ball um
2956s	evangelion uh dragon ball cowboy haiku
2960s	some of it might sound cliche like
2962s	because those are like some of those
2963s	mention are always the top but
2965s	they're good for a reason and there's
2967s	some some there's something really good
2968s	about
2970s	for i would say for evangelion if you're
2972s	a board artist and you want to
2974s	understand shot economy i think aliens
2976s	perfect as well as
2978s	stories that kind of delve into the lore
2980s	as well as character so there's a lot of
2981s	good storytelling both visually and how
2983s	things are written um for haiku
2986s	is does a lot of cool methodical stuff
2989s	um the episode after they lose to abu
2992s	jose episode 25
2994s	as well as haiku is known as being like
2996s	this great volleyball sports the episode
2998s	where they lose and everyone's
2999s	reflecting pay attention how they stage
3001s	a lot of those scenes it's really cool
3003s	there's a scene where tanaka's talking
3005s	about how they need to evolve and his
3007s	back is towards the window but in the
3008s	reflection you see the crows flying
3010s	forward and so it's like this little
3011s	subtle things that are like giving a lot
3013s	of nuance
3014s	uh as well as the other thing
3017s	for haiku is
3018s	you see a lot of them in the gym so
3020s	every time they're not in the gym they
3021s	give you golden hour they give you
3022s	different color settings because even
3024s	they know like oh we have to make this
3025s	visually interesting for these moments
3027s	so it's it's little things like that
3029s	like
3029s	uh me and alex were talking about like
3031s	watching cartoons you know work working
3033s	in animation or learning animation and
3034s	still watching cartoons it's like little
3035s	things like that to pick up on so
3037s	animation is always such a big
3038s	inspiration because the way they they
3040s	handle things and approach things is
3042s	always like
3043s	to learn from um yeah so yeah
3047s	i can talk about haiku forever but yeah
3049s	as well as as well as cowboy people i
3051s	can just stream last two hours for me
3054s	gushing about how
3056s	great both kawamoto is a designer as
3058s	well as the staging watanabe has all
3061s	over that show is so good
3063s	yeah yeah
3065s	there are a lot of great
3066s	classics that like shape the way that
3070s	animation works and stuff and it's super
3072s	interesting to to learn about that kind
3074s	of stuff yeah and to see those reference
3076s	references carried forward as well to
3078s	other media exactly

3087s	think we should ask a very important

3091s	we like these streams a lot because we
3094s	get to interact with the community
3095s	because our community is
3097s	the one of the biggest parts of tribes

3102s	one of the things that has emerged from
3105s	this community is a
3108s	a fondness for goblins so we want to ask

3119s	a lot of questions about the goblins and

3239s	maybe starcraft i might be like
3242s	um i'll double check but no so there's a
3244s	lot of cool box mocking uh like
3246s	cross-platforming that's going on
3248s	because two of our background artists
3250s	worked on vox machina and our prop
3252s	artist so i also just wanted to give the
3254s	prop
3255s	artist some love because props are kind
3256s	of like
3257s	sort of overlooked sometimes when it
3258s	comes to animation but i just wanted to
3260s	show like how
3261s	he was able to like bring
3263s	the game into life as well so he did a
3266s	really good job so yeah i completely
3268s	completely agree like you can see the
3270s	details that are carried over it's
3271s	definitely a tribe the tribes of
3273s	midgarda acts completely

3278s	was going to say as well as you can see
3279s	where we streamlined it where we like oh
3281s	we got to take some of these details out
3282s	because we have to track we have to
3284s	track these drawings

4023s	you'll get rewards so to answer your

4028s	amount of points whenever you're at a

4031s	you'll be able to see at the end of your

4035s	shift keys unlocked and then when you
4038s	see those shift keys then you can enter

4663s	not um despawn you're all forged exactly

5428s	marching towards the village there isn't
5429s	a village anymore
