Does it only affect Stellaris for you too?

That does read like there is an issue with the Windows updating process, I'm sorry to say! I suspect nothing that uses msiexec will work until that is fixed.

If you have access to Microsoft support I think that is your next stop.

Good luck with that!

Indeed.

Add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

I've now seen reports of this happening in Ironman with cloud saves enabled. If you play non-Ironman with local saves does it work any better?

Ok after uninstalling the (manualy as on the reddit thread) installed launcher, then reinstalling it when starting the stellaris game, it is back, but still "you seem not connected". In English it uses other words, but the idea is the same.

The only "consequence" seems to be: not having the news in the launcher so... isn't the error on your part, paradox??
It's possible, but why then would it not affect ... Read more

75c is high but should not cause crashes, I agree. It never ever gets above 80c?

How about the CPU?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/CK3/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

If you mean the game executables, MS are responsible for that as they handle the installation. Launcher executables I'm not so sure about.

Macs use openGL as a video standard instead of DirectX that Windows users. OpenGL is much much slower.

Pinty said: What do you mean exactly with the refresh rate? Is my laptop not performing up to expectations. I mean, when the game works, it runs really smoothly on decent graphics.
Yours is running at the most common rate 60hz, which is fine. Some rigs run at 72, 120 or even 144hz which can drive video cards crazy.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

If those don't help:

I thought I was going to see a really high refresh rate there but it doesn't seem so.

Interesting you mention Avast, I have seen other reports of it crashing this game every few minutes. Can i ask you to check with their support on how to 100% except the game from it?

And what CPU and GPU temperatures are you seeing in the game?

Yes, I suggest you revert to the last Recommended driver for that card, May 2020. That optional driver causes problems with at least one of our other games, Surviving Mars.

I'm afraid not - on Steam achievements are entirely managed by Steam , there is no mechanism to sync ones you earned on non-Steam platforms into Steam.

Sorry about that!

What AV app do you have? I've just seen one report that Avast did exactly this to another user.

Just get this file made and posted here please, I think I explain it fairly clearly:

We've had one report this helped this issue, please try it!

In the Windows search box enter Xbox and choose Xbox Networking under Settings. Wait until it has finished checking the network then hit “Fix it”.

We are mostly seeing this with the Windows version in fact. I assume you were on Linux?
