Can we see proof of purchase for the game and DLCs from GoG please?  

In that dxdiag we see a couple of hangs in stellaris.exe but no crashes reported. And there are no significant errors in that log file either. Very odd.

It is possible this is a game bug as you say, but then why would everyone not be seeing it? And generally a game bug will be triggered by a specific action or event in the game, not at random points during play.

Do you have a save game file that reliably triggers this problem for you? If so please attach it here.  

Those temps are okay, problems start around 80c.

To stream did you install or use any video capture software? That should be disabled or turned off while playing now.

The crashes we see in stellaris.exe in that dxdiag are not familiar to me. We are also seeing crashes in MsMpEng.exe / mpengine.dll which I believe is part of Windows Defender - also not something I've seen before. Would you say you are having other problems in Windows , aside from these issues with this game?

Do CK2, EU4 and HOi4 work okay or have similar issues?

After the freeze can you start the game right up again okay? Or do you have to reboot, or wait a while, before it will run again?

i have never heard of IGG, is that a grey market vendor or free site?

If you bought both the game and DLC fro GoG that should work of course. Is that the case?  

What antivirus app do you use? You will need to add galaxy.exe and paradox launcher.exe at least to its exceptions lists.  

That's odd as my understanding is that Vsync does nothing in borderless or windowed modes, the refresh rate of the desktop is used.  

You are right, but on the other hand I have been unable to determine what problem in Windows could trigger that error. If you have any access to Microsoft or Windows support perhaps they can help with that?  

I guess then that doesn't load because of the earlier FMOD failure.

I'm checking with my manager to see if anything can be found n how to use that setting.

The fastest game speed does work differently to the others. Essentially it says to the game "run as fast as the hardware allows regardless of the effect on the visuals". You can see more info on that here:

That is a shame. How do you feel about a Windows Reset?

I don't know then, I'm running out of ideas short of a Windows reset/reinstall.

Does the Windows Update app find anythign to install?  

In there we see you have Norton AV app, but it is disabled. It can still get in the way like that. I suggest you remove it completely with the free Revo Uninstaller and Ccleaner utilities.

We also see you have Windows updates going beck to October that have failed to install. Run the Update app, does that go okay? Find anything to apply?

What does it do, can you disable it as a test?

I don't see anything else of concern in there.  

I don't believe any of our games or apps use that, but I'm no developer.

I'm frankly stumped on this one, we see no clues in those files what is causing this for you. Has this game always been like this for you? or it was okay up to some point?

The previous game CK2 is free to play on Steam now, does that work okay?  

This game uses Steam MP by default, so that could be an issue.

Have all players opt into the crossplay branch in the Steam Betas tab for the game, which uses Paradox MP instead. Any better?
