Hey Camden I haven't participated much in this community but seeing you interact with even some of the more extreme cases of criticism like this and in such a formal and professional manner gives me a lot of hope. I just want you guys to know that your communication, especially in admitting certain aspects can be improved, makes me want to take this journey into anthem even more because even if certain features will come later I feel an earnest want from you all to make it the best it can be. Keep up the great work can't wait to see all you devs around the launch bay. :)

Thanks a lot Malidorian, I really appreciate that. I know my answer isn’t going to be loved by everybody, I also know people assign different value to all kinds of features. There is so much more that I wish we could have gotten to. A lot of which we may get to revisit soon which is the benefit of being a committed live service after launch. Camden, this is the first time i've seen a post from yours that seems just a tad tone deaf, but i think it's because this bit of technology is outside of your area.
Denuvo is a much hated anti-pirating software, it does a bad job at preventing pirating - and it is redundant for that purpose in an always connected online game. It is known to cause performance and compatibility issues, and people have privacy concerns about it.
This is a very dangerous thing and could very much blow up in your faces for having used it

I hear what you’re saying Jerry, but delaying the entire game for a feature like this just isn’t going to happen. While I understand that this type of feature is extremely important to you, I think you’ll still be able to make informed gear, weapon, and component decisions with what we have available, and play the way you want to. You can still view equipped versus selected gear, still compare this increases or decreases in stats, can still view what you gain and lose or what contributes to your build.
Is it ideal? Maybe not. Would we build this type of character sheet if we had more time or resources? Probably. Which is why Ben expressed it’s something we want to do.
But in developing a game, or really any project, you have to make decisions based on those limitations (time, scope, resources) based on priority. It sounds like your priorities and ours just didn’t line up here.
Thanks for responding. Though I do still have one question. Will the build for this coming weekend be the same or will there be improvements from the VIP build. Because as it stands I was sitting at 100% CPU usage every time more than 1 enemy was near me.
I’ve largely been looped into other launch prep and post-launch planning stuff this week after our demo weekend and the feedback that came out of it. Specifically for gameplay related items.
Meaning I’m not in the loop on what (if any) changes we’ve made for next weekend. Sorry I could be more help here Phabio.

I unfortunately not at all familiar with this aspect of our game, it’s simply not my area of expertise. But I know we got plenty of feedback and reports about loading and optimization.

Colossus Don't get a helmet customization option. Can Shield customization be implemented please?
I believe it was brought up in the customization stream and talked about. For now your shield will inherit appearance characteristics you set via paints but I don’t know what the plans are for future customization.

You hear that /u/BenIrvo or /u/BioCamden? Or any dev willing to comment on this and give us an explanation as to why it's not in the game? For as much as you talk about in your dev streams about grinding for powerful and more efficient builds in the end game without having that kind of info on hand for you players in order to see what gives them what they want and how it affects their health or shields or armor or whatever you want to call it (not to mention other things that are affected like hover time).....it's almost pointless. We know there HAS to be some type of stat or numeric value or something to measure ...
So a few things, the original post here is talking about statistics that are likely being pulled from servers via telemetry reporting. That’s a completely different type of reporting than what you are describing you want here which is character sheet statistics per player.
I appreciate your feedback, but delaying the game is a little extreme. But I am glad that you passionate about it. As mentioned above in the tweet from Ben, it’s something we want to do but didn’t have the time or resources to do for launch.

Yeah definitely always thinking of that, it’s more about how we can make both useful for Colossus. Don’t want half of the components being significantly less useful.

With regards to rez while ulting, I agree with your sentiment of giving players more choices in the way they play. However I think the issue in this case is that one choice seems to have no risk and will be abused in higher difficulties.
Reading the situation you personally encountered ingame, I can't help but think you would've had no risk if you rezzed your teammate personally instead. (why get someone else to rez and possibly die when you could have told them to back off for 5 seconds and rez him yourself, completely invincible?)
One again, giving players choices is great!! But they all need to have a certain amount of risk associated to them, or else there really isn't a choice now, is there...
Even without risk there can be choice. I certainly don’t believe that choice always have to come from risk/reward. Choice can come from efficiency or optimal gameplay. The choice I outlined was an efficiency choice. Yes I could have resurrected my teammate and the squad kill the wave, but that was far less efficient because of the output of my ultimate. Also even if I’m invincible there can be secondary squad risk. If I do something that indirectly puts them on more danger or risk (through action or inaction) that is a choice too. So if I decide to use my Ult to res somebody rather than clear out 30 mobs, and those mobs go on to kill my other two teammates, is that a good choice (1 for 2?).
By my understanding of the previous arguments yes, because resurrecting while invulnerable is always the optimal choice. But in my opinion that is certainly not the better choice. Clearing out the add wave, securing my teammates safety (for now) and then creating an opportunity before t...

u/biocamden If anyone is still looking at this thread - I had something happen that I'm not sure I've seen mentioned (apologies if it has). After running the Stronghold with friends, they left and I switched Javs and hopped into Freeplay with randos. When I ended the expedition, the victory screen showed my Javelin and friends from the previous Stronghold and not the current Javelin I had equipped.

I had a question /u/BioCamden or any other bioware dev as I haven't yet found it.
Will the open beta have a fix for the 95% loading bug on console. I ask because I saw somewhere it is possibly a client side bug, and consoles require certification which may prevent it from being fixed timely. I'm worried that if my friends playing the open beta have to deal with that bug they'll get frustrated with the game, leaving me with no one to play with when it fully releases.

Read moreConsider the balance implications. 4 interceptors have little risk of wiping because they can alternate free rez. Not even single boss, we're talking the entire stronghold, especially given the potential of ult cooldown reduction. Your "hardest content" just became a breeze.
Outside of the super-coordinated abuse case, there's no thought to using your ult to rez a teammate on hard+. It's always the best use of it because 2 javelins are always greater than one, unless the enemies just happen to be near dead. The majority of the time that wont be the case.
Teams will definitely relegate their interceptors to that support role, flaming them when the ult is used to kill a couple elites or a handful of mobs that everyone has to now kill a second time anyways. I know if this remains as-is, I will be forced to main interceptor once lvl30 and our 2 ints will be forced to use our ults to rez and prevent wipe. It's by far better than anything I could bring to the table with...

I personally disagree that the res is “always” the right choice. There was at least one time where in the Hard Stronghold I didn’t Ult/Res but instead Ulted and solo’ed an add wave so that my other 2 teammates were in less danger and one of them could res. If balanced and used correctly the output of the Interceptor Ult should be meaningful and amusing it to res should probably be a dire sacrifice as a last ditch effort. Again this is just my personal opinion.
If this becomes a trend then we can look into it. But as a side note (and I know this all-to-well) but if you’re being relegated or forced to a specific role by somebody else (and not having fun), maybe tell them to buzz off. Play how you want to play and use your best judgment.

Like you said u/Biocamden if it even is possible it would just give more opportunities for the interceptor to be efficient in late game play. Cause if the stats are true for GM 3 it's a death wish to run up in a crowd of enemies as the speedy boi javelin. These were really my suggestions, I just felt Spark dash can be utilized more so if it had that effect of being an evasion maneuver plus I noticed it cant be used vertically? Not certain why.
I'll just have to practice with the cluster mine to get the full feel of its effects.

Yeah makes sense and thanks for the follow-up. Wraith strike is one of my favorite abilities in terms of look and feel. If it ends up not being useful enough or balanced we do have plans to regularly review gear after launch.
The Interceptor definitely does have a lot of team potential, if this ends up being problematic for solo play we may revisit but we’d want more data first. So keep playing! :D

Something that came up in another thread that might be diagnostically relevant is that I have a 144Hz monitor. Someone else said they also had one, and were getting similar stuttering until they set it to 60Hz. I'll test it out next weekend and see if that makes a difference.
