The next content update for Burning Crusade Classic, Overlords of Outland will be available worldwide on September 15. At that point, you’ll be able to take on two of Illidan Stormrage’s most powerful lieutenants: Lady Vashj in Serpentshrine Cavern, located in Zangarmarsh, and Kael’thas Sunstrider in The Eye, the central wing of Tempest Keep in Netherstorm. Be sure to bring a flying mount—you'll need one to reach Kael’thas secluded seat of power.

Gaining entry to those two new raids requires the completion of certain quest chains with strict requirements. Some of these chains require you to pay a visit to specific dungeons in Heroic mode—each of which have their own requirements to access. Keep in mind that some of these requirements can be bypassed by grouping up with someone who has already completed them, and others can be sidestepped by certain classes or professions.

So, you’ve selected a Bounty and are preparing to head out, but you’re not quite sure how you plan to get your target? It starts with a good team and strong fundamentals, then the rest is up to you and your Mercenaries! If you’re not ready yet, you can check out our Overview blog first. Are you ready for the biggest Battlegrounds update to date?! To start, we’re introducing an entirely new Battlegrounds specific keyword, Avenge, that does something after (x) friendly minions die. Then, we’re replacing 37 minions with new ones and adding two new Heroes! You can get an idea of how the Avenge keyword works by checking out those new minions below.

Before you do, we’ve made a few fundamental changes we want to make you aware of. We’ve added a damage cap of 15 damage until the first player dies, meaning that no player can take more than 15 damage from combat until the first player in a lobby dies or disconnects. We’ve also increased turn timers so that everyone has time to get familiar with the new content: the length of turns 3-9 have been increased by 5 seconds. Everyone will start fresh with this update as ratings will be reset with the 21.2 patch to make way for a new season.

With the arrival of the 9.1.5 PTR, we wanted to share more information on the variety of new features and updates arriving with the content update. Not all of these features and updates will be available immediately within the PTR, but we are looking forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback as they do.

Covenant Updates

Players who reach max Renown for their Covenant will be able to freely switch among any of the four Covenants without cooldown or restriction. Cosmetic rewards, including pets and mounts, that have been earned from that covenant will thereafter be available regardless of your membership in a different one. Covenant switching and the use of cosmetic rewards will also apply to any alternate characters once the Renown threshold is reached on one character.
