Could you please try launching Darktide directly via the .exe (as opposed to via Steam), and screenshot any errors that appear?

The path to the Darktide.exe should look similar to this: Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 DARKTIDE\binaries

I suspect this is an issue with the Visual C++ Redistributables. You should be able to resolve this by:

  1. Uninstall the Visual C++ 2019 Redistributables
  2. Reinstall the Visual C++ 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 Redistributables: Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Learn
  • You may be prompted with an option to repair, as opposed to install. In which case, you may proceed with the option to repair

This sounds odd, but could you try disabling ‘Portrait Rendering’ via the ‘Settings’ → ‘Interface’ menu and see if that reduces the rate at which you error?

Could you see if deleting your AppData works to resolve this?:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
  4. Delete the ‘Darktide’ directory

You may then need to use the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option via Steam:

  1. Right-click Darktide in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
  4. Select the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ button
  5. When complete, close and reopen Steam

Sorry to see this. This should now be resolved - let me know if you have any problems.

You’re missing a DLL from the Visual C++ Redistributables. You should be able to resolve this by:

  1. Uninstall the Visual C++ 2019 Redistributables
  2. Reinstall the Visual C++ 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 Redistributables: Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Learn

Apologies for the delay - could you try deleting your AppData please?

Please be aware this will reset any custom keybindings.

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\MicrosoftStore
  4. Delete the entire ‘Darktide’ directory
  5. Launch Darktide as normal

May I confirm that you selected the Darktide.exe and not the Launcher.exe please?

Comment

This appears to be a result of the Weapon Customisation mod.

We’re looking in to what we can do manually to resolve this and I hope to have an update next week.

Oh wow - are you able to share your most recent console logs with us, please?

Ideally one that corresponds with when you’ve used Fullscreen, and one where you haven’t!

We can only refund purchases made within the past 30 days, unfortunately.

Okay… I’ve had another look and restored what I believe to be the correct one.

Could you make sure all the items are unequipped?

Comment

You have the same Curio equipped in separate slots, which is an issue currently affecting the saving of loadouts.
