I’ve queried this with our developers, and hope to have an update for you soon.

Comment

This is indeed occurring due to the ‘Crosshair Remap’ mod.

Sorry to hear this Arsla. If you could upload a console log, I can share this with our Backend Engineers. Alternatively, as this issue has been impacting you for a while now, I’m happy to help with a refund should you prefer that.

If you haven’t already, please could you use the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option?:

  1. Right-click Darktide in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
  4. Select the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ button
  5. When complete, close and reopen Steam
Comment

This appears to be caused by the ‘PreviewCosmetics’ mod.

Comment

There is most certainly an issue with the Zealot Flamer. We’re working to hotfix this.

Comment

This (edit: well, the crash at least!) does seem to be mod-related - I’m not sure which, I believe it’s a UI mod.

Comment

Please try disabling the Overwolf Overlay.

Comment

Regrettably we cannot due to limitations in our backend, but I’m able to move over any paid currencies if that’s of any help.

Comment

We are working to hotfix this, apologies for the inconvenience.

Comment

Certainly!

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide
  4. Locate launcher.config in this directory

Sorry @MetalTigerlily, I appreciate you’ve been waiting a while, we are stuck on this admittedly. It’s still on our radar.

Comment

This is indeed mod-related as @ggg suspected

I can see this with the multiple references to mods in the crash data:

<>[string "./../mods/crosshair_remap/scripts/mods/crossh..."]:77: assertion failed!<>

In this case, it appears to be the ‘Crosshair Remap’ mod.

Comment

Sorry to hear this. Could you share the URL to your Steam profile with me? As perhaps we can locate your crash reports that way.

Comment

Could you try disabling Portrait Rendering, and see if there’s any improvement?

Am I correct in saying sometimes you experience a crash to desktop, whereas other times you experience a blue screen (BSOD) rendering your PC unresponsive?

Comment

Sorry about this - I’ve raised your crash with our Engine Developers.

Comment

I’ve been informed this is essentially the new Error Code: 4008, as you suspected! :frowning:

Are you ever able to play, or is this a consistent issue for you?
