@SirKruber do you have an example of how it used to sound you can find? I’m coming up short in my research and I’m being quizzed hard by our sound designers!

I've noticed that sometimes players accidentally join my lobby even when I'm not matchmaking. That means that your host is open by default and settings are applied in post to filter connections.
This is a security oversight by FS that, while in context isn't too harmful (just players joining you in a game lobby) it does raise concerns about client vulnerabilities as a whole.
I would definitely contact FS about this and urge them to look into their implementation of the Steamworks API again to check for vulnerabilities.
Does u/Fatshark_Hedge still come around here?
Indeed. I've passed this on.
Can you link to where they said that, if you remember?
It's true, it was in a Stream. Most likely the 5-Year Anniversary of Vermintide stream which looks to be 'F' now.
We reported this up a few times, but we could never find a repro for it weirdly. We’ve been given the steps countless times but for whatever reason it doesn’t happen for us
I’ve raised a bug for the missing “boom” though, I doubt it’s intended.
Thanks for your insight. Getting an item that your character can't use could give you a reason to play another character?
There is a trinket you can wear which leans the dice roll to a chosen hero, but it hogs the trinket slot and probably doesn't skew the roll enough to be impactful enough, in hindsight.
Being rewarded with items for other heroes does help players gear up and consider playing the other hero choices, but if you just wanna play the one hero, and your mates are playing all the others, it can be a drag.
The team only really emerged from Festive Hibernation en masse yesterday, which was when I became aware of a pre-CW patch. Our producer reached out to Julia, Lev and I for a run-down of the most pressing issues being bounced around in the forums. It couldn’t have come much sooner I’m afraid, this thread was a great place to bring it up ...
Read moreIt’s a fair question to be fair. Any bug that’s reported here in the forums, or steam, or helpdesk, is raised in a bug tracker which the developers work through on a priority basis. If they’re not reported via those channels, they’re not fixed unless they’re found internally.
We plan to have at least one patch out prior to Chaos Wastes.
Looks like there is an outage at our service provider, where progressions is stored. Seems to be recovering now albeit slowly. Apologies for the inconvenience
I’m going to echo what I stated over on Steam:
We’ve not discussed in any detail how the new 40K band of misfits will work together. I just want to say that generally a lot of people are making pure assumptions based on our previous game(s) that may not come to light.
I suggest holding out for future dev blogs, showcases and announcements for specifics. This will come when we’re incredibly confident in the system or feature in question. We just want to avoid as much as possible saying how a system will work before it’s locked down.
It’s helpful and we encourage people to speculate and talk about what people want to see from the characters and their supporting systems, but framing something as being set in stone is too early, I think, at least until we’ve spoken more about it.

Read moreWell, that's a shame. V2 was actually like 35gb on release or something, which was why I was so floored when I tried reinstalling to find it was over 100gb now. Was hoping Fatshark might be able to do some optimization after the fact but looking at it now I'm starting to doubt that. Guess it wouldn't kill me to invest in a small EHD, could store Nexus mods on there too because NMM does a similar file duplication thing that bloats the hell out of file size. Still kinda sucks though. Thanks for the quick and respectful response.
We can reduce the file size and we do plan on doing that down the line.
This is called a remaster -- not in the sense of making it an old game look better, but rebuilding the game file structure. The pros of this are a reduced file size. The cons? You gotta basically redownload most of the game as the bundles will be different.
EG*: We remaster and the game comes out at 70gb, nice! That's a 40gb saving!
Monkeypaw! Now everyone has to download a 60+gb update.
*numbers pulled out my bushy ass
Progression is saved on our side so you're free to uninstall without backing anything up :) (unless you play on PlayStation/Xbox in Offline Mode)
Last week we premiered the first gameplay trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide !
If you missed it, we don’t blame you! It was a busy week for sure, and whilst many eyes are on the year 2077 we want to take you further into the future where it’s grimdark and there’s only war.
The Warhammer: 40K franchise is widely loved and adored by many, and we’re stoked to have the opportunity to work with the brand. Games Workshop has trusted us to craft a co-op game that respects the setting, whilst giving players a fami...

image740×586 24.7 KBHas it been any better (or worse) than on the main Steam branch (non-Beta) throughout any of these steps?
Could you all try to set the sharing setting in Steam / Settings / In-Game / Steam Networking to Always and try again?
NEW INFO:
All players in the lobby must enable this for it to be effective.
Valve have made some changes, but they might only be noticeable on the BETA Steam client. We suggest anyone suffering with eggregious ping since 3.4 should try out the new settings on the BETA client.
