Hey spatnakc. We spoke via helpdesk, hopefully the situation is clearer now. We're not banning anyone, but we're timing out folks we can verify to be holding up the game for other players who just wanna kill rats.

It's kind of a cheap scummy clause. Sure, it would have helped here, and a lesson for the future perhaps, but ultimately banning people for going AFK is a cheapshot. I believe these people to be showing us we should be doing better with the QOL features (and in fairness it is working).

I understand that sentiment, honestly, and it has been echoed internally. However, standing AFK in the keep isn't strictly against any terms, rules or EULA. That's on us, I suppose, for not forseeing folks would do that when we wrote it. At the same time, the game should have protections and systems in place so players who encounter these poeple can just block them and move on with their lives / evening's entertainment. That is squarely on us, and we're working to address it.

Hey! Yeah we are in the process of submitting the latest updates for review at Sony and Microsoft, but in order for it to go in, we had to update the ‘backend’ system to award shillings for quests and the like. So those will appear as [X] and you wont see any reward, but we’re counting up those shillings and they will be available when the emporium and Drachenfels goes live soon! Sorry for the confusion

I hear you, I doubt it’s impossible and that’s the kind of avenue we’d look to go down I suppose. It’s just a matter of time versus reward. Touching backend stuff like this is super risky and requires a whole bunch of testing. Right now it “works” and there are inherent risks in changing it. As I say, not impossible, but might be something we look at changing in an overhaul.

There’s issues with the idea of salvaging more items than is currently possible, and these are limitations on the backend service we use. Only so many requests and actions can be ‘made’ in a given event, in this case, salvaging items. Allowing for more ‘things’ to be processed from an action (like Salvaging) just isn’t possible at the moment without generating errors.

Welcome to another development update.

Community Challenge News

You’re on to the 8th day of the Community Challenge, around 57% through the allotted time, and you’re around 56% through the required kills. When we set out we wanted this to be somewhere between a ‘safe’ and ‘nail-biting’ challenge. Right now, however, we’re out of nails and we’re chewing on fingers.
