Hey folks, just an update on this one.

Unfortunately this needs a client fix, which means we need to put the game through the whole submission process with the stores again and wait for approval before releasing the fix.

We have a meeting scheduled on Monday to talk about when is the earliest we can get a fix to you all as it can’t be this weekend - that is out of our hands due to needing to resubmit the game to get a fix live.

I’ll also be following up on how this passed QA

My people, mark up is hard. We tested ALL sorts of combinations before pushing this live… we didn’t share a team code with a “1488” ID in it though because I wasn’t thinking of that.

I will see about getting this fixed, if it can’t be I’ll ask for ‘1488’ to be uncensored.

I am very happy that some people here have so little interaction with neo-nazis that they don’t realise that any time a gamer uses the numbers ‘1488’ in their game names they are always referring to nazis.

Let’s not defend it for the sake of other, more innocent things like discussions about Putin or American Presidents, or other historic dates and symbolism. There are some very straight forward references that are commonly used by neo-nazis, and almost never by anyone else in games, pop culture or the mass media and this is one of them.

Just poking my head in to say, I would just have your discussion and share your ideas, then flag and ignore any posts that go against community guidelines - don’t respond to them.

Threatening flags and telling people to act normal tends to cause more problems than would naturally happen

We take references to white supremicism, nazis and Hitler very seriously.
This is usually taken incredibly seriously by game studios in general.

Prior to working for IP2 I worked for a German game publisher and so I learnt a few things.
One of those things is that not only is neo-nazism and white supremecy disgusting (which we all already know obviously), but certain symbols, words and numbers and the way they are used can be literally ILLEGAL.

As a game that welcomes players from all backgrounds and as a company that does not tolerate racism we will not mess around with names that are clearly referring to nazis.

We are not apologetic to neo-nazis or any kind of racist, and we will not give them the benefit of the doubt. We have a hard stance on it. We are not apologetic about this stance.

We also offer our game to German speaking players who may be residing in Germany where, as I mentioned, some references are literally illegal in some contexts...

We want to provide you with more details about the Dungeon RNG fix.

We actually thought the tool that was created to predict the doors was awesome and speaks volumes about how passionate and inventive our community creators are. It was disappointing to us that this fix was going to affect that tool. I believe it was @sls who worked hard on the tool itself with all the data the community provided - seriously kudos to sls and everyone else who contributed and I’m sorry this change has been so discouraging to so many who were involved in that project and used it.

Thanks folks, I know how unhappy everyone is with the game right now, I’ve asked for more detailed information so we can make another post about the Dungeon before the weekend so we can share what we can with everyone.

The forums got crazy on both sides of the discussion, I really don’t like sending warnings and bans, and especially don’t like deleting posts.
