Apologies to our Amazon players who are eagerly anticipating our 6.5 update!

We just got word that things are taking longer than anticipated due to some unforeseen hiccups. Players on other platforms will be able to update the game as expected at :
August 24th, 2022 at 11:00 PM UTC / August 23rd, 2022 at 4:00 PM PT

However, Amazon devices will not have the 6.5 update available until we have resolved the issue.

We’ll follow up with once the update is available for Amazon devices so you can get back to adventuring.

New Bounty Troop: Stone Mefyt

The Stone Mefyt from Hellcrag, is this weekend’s Bounty Captain.

The Stone Mefyt will be available in the Bounty Shop, and will appear in Gold, Glory and Guild chests in 3-4 weeks’ time.

New Hero Class: Elementalist

A new Hero Class has been released, the Elementalist. Complete Shayle’s Elementalist Training quest in Nexus to unlock this Hero Class.

Also to celebrate the release of this new class, we will be running a Hero Class event over the weekend. Particpate in this event to help earn Champion XP for the Elementalist.

I spent over an hour yesterday running manual tests on Pet Rescues to ensure the Legends Reborn Pets were in the Pet Rescue drop pool. Unfortunately, they are not available.

I’ve followed up with one of our senior programmers who has checked and has told me they’ll be available in 4-5 weeks.

I have also spoken with a couple of other programmers about our automated testing for new Pets and Pet Rescues for cases like this in future.

I will also be talking to the team about how the wrong information was given to CX so we can try to avoid this in future.

I know there’s going to be comments/questions so just to answer ahead of time:
Yes, I know that Pets being immediately available in the Pet Rescues after the event they’re released in ends is unusual. I did mention this when asking about the timing of the release.

Sorry @Hawx I didn’t realise the live numbers would be different from the beta numbers. I will definitely be following up on why/what happened with the team.

I’m not denying there’s problems with the text and I’m certainly not accusing anyone of lying. I’m just saying in a round about way that it doesn’t matter who translates it there will be mistakes because humans aren’t perfect, even with spell checkers and grammarly.

The best process is for CX to report issues with the text when they appear and that feedback to be passed onto the translators to be fixed. Then the whole thing is all of us learn from our mistakes right? Better to have someone experienced who makes mistakes and learns from them than to hire someone new who hasn’t made any mistakes yet and start the process from scratch. I’d also point out that it’s not a one person issue, I don’t feel it’s constructive to call out single people and blame them for it. It’s inaccurate to blame people without knowing who wrote the mistake into the text and also pointing fingers doesn’t actually solve the problem at all.

I will raise the translation issues with the team again ...

Thanks @Hawx, unfortunately the team weren’t able to change the tasks before weekly reset today.

I’ve made a note of the duplicate tasks in the bug we have for this to keep track of it.

So this week expect the following Bronze duplicates:

• 2x Win 5 battles with a Relic Weapon (non-consecutive)
• 2x Defeat 12 Brown Troops (consecutive)
• 3x Complete 1 Adventure Board (non-consecutive)

I’m very sorry we weren’t able to manually correct these in time.

Also could I please get feedback specifically about how frustrating it is to get duplicate Adventure Board Tasks? I’d like to include feedback about this one specifically in our report to keep it as detailed as possible.

I just want to say I played through the entire Legends Reborn event 3 times and I have Rowanne on my Explore farming team and I somehow didn’t even notice this. RIP

The Stone Zombie will be available this week for 300 Glory in the shop as well as in Event Chests, and will appear in Glory, Gem, and Guild chests in 3-4 weeks’ time.

New Guide Troop: Hawthorn

Hawthorn will be available in the Journey Shop, and will appear in Glory, Gem, Guild, and VIP chests in 3-4 weeks’ time.

Please note the Pathfinder trait is a unique Trait, this means the Trait cannot be stacked with itself, and only one Troop with the Pathfinder trait will apply its bonus in a Journey Event.

All of our translators are native speakers, play Gems of War, have access to update info before it’s released so they have additional context to what they’re translating, and at least one of them is a professional translator as their day job outside of just Gems of War.

We prefer to have people who play Gems of War so they understand the context of what they’re translating.

Yeah I’m not sure what the specifics of the issue were so couldn’t explain that.

As for there being 2 redeem pages, we never took the old one down, it can be convenient to have the gamecode.gemsofwar.com url to refer people to from some platforms vs the Game Code – Gems of War url as it’s a bit more straight forward. We will probably clean it up at some point though, just not a priority.

A new pet has been released, Sphynxomancer. You can get Sphynxomancer from the daily Pet Rescue for the next 24hrs.
Please note that Sphynxomancer is a special event pet.

We’re currently having server issues, the team are on it now.

Sorry for the delayed reply, 2/3 of CX was out sick last week.

The numbers for the re-rolled tasks look odd to me too, I’ll ask the team about it.

I’ve also added this past week’s repeated tasks to the bug report.

We actually did have code to prevent this after it was reported when Nexus was released so the team need to look into why it’s occurring again now that Hellcrag was released.

I made sure there’s no duplicate Tasks in this coming week as well.
