While we work to fix a bug causing the Great Vault to present the wrong rewards, we’ve disabled the entire thing.

It will be back soon!

Confirmed – we do indeed have a bug that we’ve not been able to immediately squash.

Fixing it is a top priority for us, and at this time, it’s advisable to not loot the Great Vault until it’s been fixed and is offering the correct items.

We’ll keep you posted here and on our Warcraftdevs Twitter feed.

Yes. Unfortunately, the season did not end at 10:00 p.m. PDT as expected. We immediately investigated the issue and ended the season for certain at 11:10 p.m. PDT.

We will review the results and ensure that anyone who was eligible for Rank 1 at 10:00 p.m. PDT properly receives it.

If anyone was eligible for Rank 1 at 11:10 p.m. PDT but not 10:00 p.m. PDT, they will also receive it.

This review will be a part of our usual end-of-season processing. Immediately after every season, we examine participation and issue disqualifications before results are finalized.

We’ve made an update to Chains of Domination today.

Previously on the PTR, only newly-created Shadowlands Legendaries were set to receive a gem socket. With today’s update, all items granted legendary power by the Runecarver in the Helm, Neck, Bracer, Belt, and Ring slots will receive a socket, whether you’re creating a brand new item or upgrading an older one.

We’re working on an issue with this: the preview of some items may not show the socket when you’re setting up your upgrade at the Runecarver, but the socket will be included on the final item. We’ll get the preview fixed as soon as possible.

Thank you!

TLDR: We’re bringing back WoW Classic Feral Druid powershifting by moving Druid Energy regeneration to the constant 2-second slow tick loop. Cat Druids will receive 20 Energy every 2 seconds, their Energy will never get a partial tick outside of that 2-second loop, and with careful timing, they can receive their full 20 energy regeneration tick immediately after shifting.

We’ve been discussing Druid Energy regeneration a lot the last few weeks. There has been a great deal of community discussion about it on every channel and platform that we read and listen to, and that discussion started almost immediately after we implemented the Burning Crusade Classic power regeneration change first introduced in patch 2.2.0. At that point in the original Burning Crusade, the game would grant a partial tick of regeneration whenever any regeneration rates changed, and it would reset their regeneration clock, so the next tick would happen about 2 seconds later. Wh...

Next week’s major content update and the start of Season 2 the following week will include some parts of the game becoming no longer available, as well as some new items that we’d like players to be aware of in advance.

PvP

As we previously announced, Season 1 will end at 10:00 p.m. PDT on June 28 in this region. After that time, we’ll be in an off-season state until Season 2 begins with the weekly reset on July 6. During the off-season, players can still participate in PvP activities and earn Conquest, but off-season efforts will not have any impact on Seasonal rewards. Keep in mind that Conquest will be reset to 0 on July 6. Honor will not be reset.

Raiding

Castle Nathria will be open and available for raiders to take their last shots at earning the Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge achievements until the weekly reset on July 6 in this region. The new Sanctum of Domination raid will open for Normal and Heroic difficul...

With Burning Crusade Classic launching only three weeks ago, we decided to postpone the Midsummer Fire Festival this year. It felt a little too soon to have players who might be taking their time feel the need to level up (or level up their alts) so they could make the most of Ahune, among other things. But we don’t want to skip a whole year, so we’ve decided to open the Midsummer Fire Festival in Burning Crusade Classic the week of July 20, 2021. It will return to its usual time coinciding with the real-world Northern hemisphere solar calendar in 2022.

Speaking of the week of July 20, there’s something else going on that week that we’re going to celebrate. The 2020 Summer Olympics is set to kick off that week, and we see that as the perfect opportunity to reintroduce the Spirit of Competition. This event only occurred once before in the history of WoW, to coincide with the 2008 Summer Olympics during the original Burning Crusade. We’re really looking forward to getting into ...

Over the first few days of ranked Arena play in Burning Crusade Classic, we’ve seen some feedback and inquiries from players that we’d like to answer with a brief explainer.

There are multiple PvP performance ratings used by the game. Every Arena team has a team rating that starts at 0 and increases as the team plays Arena matches together. Additionally, each player who is on a team has a personal rating that is calculated based on the results of the Arena matches they’ve played as a part of their team. If a player leaves a team, their personal rating associated with that team will be reset. If a player joins a team that has already played matches, the player will join with up to 1000 rating points of the team’s current team rating. These values are displayed in the PvP frame, and they are used to determine end-of-season awards and weekly points.

To keep players matching against opponents of similar skill, the game also calculates a matchmaking rating (MMR) for each ch...

For the last week, we’ve received inquiries and seen community concerns stemming from the fact that a player was able to purchase Arena gear earlier than intended.

Please know that we’ve investigated it thoroughly, even after quickly identifying the player and reversing the unintended transactions. This was an isolated incident that only affected one player, and we resolved it shortly after it was first reported.

In our subsequent investigations, we’ve found no other examples of this issue or any similar issue.

Hello.

This seems like a good place to remind ourselves that often, a test environment is where we test works in progress, and works in progress can sometimes be applied to that test environment in an incomplete state.

In this case, “lieutenant” (level 61) enemies that are generally immune to crowd control are keeping their new every-other-swing behavior. The intent of the previous change on the PTR was clearly to nerf Necrotic, but the nerf was likely too much.

In the live game, Necrotic is probably a little more oppressive than we want it to be, so don’t be surprised if more tweaks to it hit the PTR over the next few days.

That is correct, except it’s a 20% reduction from Season 1 to Season 2, and then another 20% from Season 2 to Season 3.

An example:
Sergeant’s Cloak Season 1 cost: 11794 Honor (+20 AB Marks)
Sergeant’s Cloak Season 2 cost: 9435 Honor (+20 AB Marks)
Sergeant’s Cloak Season 3 cost: 7548 Honor (+20 AB Marks)

As the original issue was hotfixed on Monday, I’m going to close this thread.

We don’t have any evidence that Paladins are generating no threat in Black Morass, but we’d sure like some if it’s happening! We’ll check that out further and look for bug reports on it.

Thank you!

On Tuesday, a bug with our initialization of Burning Crusade Classic Arena Season 1 made three Season 2 rings available on Honor vendors on NA realms for about two hours before we hotfixed the situation.

We immediately got to work designing and implementing a process for identifying the 81 players who purchased the Season 2 rings and reversing their transactions.

That process is underway at this time. All Season 2 PvP gear that was inadvertently available will soon be removed, and the Honor spent refunded.

As always, we appreciate everyone who reported it to us, so that we could act quickly to ensure fair play.

Thank you!

No, it does not.

Raid achievements will still be earnable until realms go down for maintenance.

The current season of Shadowlands PvP and Mythic+ content will end at 3:00 p.m. AEST (1:00 p.m. AWST, 5:00 p.m. NZST) on Tuesday, June 29 in this region. At that time, it will no longer be possible to earn seasonal rewards, titles, or Shadowlands Season 1 rankings.

While previous seasons have ended when realms were taken offline for maintenance, we’ve chosen to set this season to end a few hours earlier, at a time that should be more convenient for most players.

Shadowlands Season 2 will begin the week of July 6 with the weekly reset in each region.

Please note – the Shadowlands Season 1 PvP Illusion Sinful Flame won’t be available in Season 2, which will reward the new Unchained Fury Illusion. So if you’re close to the required 2100 rating, now’s the time to push!
