Welcome to this week’s edition of the New Player Captain's Log! For those of you who aren't sure what this is or what it might do, feel free to check out the introductory post here.
Without further ado, let’s proceed with Week 13!
Accomplishments
Here’s a list of personal milestones that I hit during the week:
1. Played the German BB line in Tiers 5-6
2. Played the French, British and Italian lines in low tiers (mainly cruisers but some BBs)
3. Got my first Kraken in randoms (!) at Tier 1 (sad face)
Focus Points of the Week
Unsurprisingly, my focus points for this week are largely the same as they were last week, as I still want to put a lot of time into my play in lower to mid tiers before I move on to tackling higher tier play:

The way you described it to me, I could easily see the Graf Spee becoming a staple of mind. I will certainly have to see if I can get my hands on it in some way.
Hmm this is very interesting. I started on the French line yesterday, and I am interested to see how it changes as I go up. I still see myself moving towards BBs, but maybe I should stick with cruisers and see if I can develop that skill set.
I have no choice but to admire the sheer dedication this takes lol. Well done! I personally like the idea of doing maybe 2 tiers at a time in a given line just so I can better get a grasp of that line's flavor, but I definitely can see how this strategy must make you a very well-rounded player.

1. Played games with @Maredraco and @Legionnare on Wednesday’s stream discussing the New Player Experience
2. Advanced the German BB line up to Tier 6
3. Introduced myself to the Italian and British lines for a few matches each
Focus Points of the Week
As this was a catch-up week from my time off, I didn’t have a lot of time to spend exploring new things, but here was what I was able to pay attention to this week:
1. Mid-tier play: What does my performance look like in the Tier 5 and 6 range as opposed to 1-4?

No problem! Sometimes if another window is up and taking over your screen you might not catch the pop-up or see it.
If that's the case, it is still copied to your clipboard, so you can just Paste (CTRL + V) directly into the forum post or open up a program like Paint, Paste the image and save it. Pasting it directly into the forum post is easier and saves a lot of steps, so I recommend that.
Oh that is really good to know, because floaty shells are not my cup of tea either. I'll have to check out Italian/French BB line soon, I guess!
I fear that I might have the same experience when I get my hands on one too. It might just be something that I can't wrap my head around on how to play effectively, but I just don't know yet. The credits issue you mentioned is interesting. Can I ask which sub/tier of sub you're playing, out of curiosity?
This is a project I began doing not long after I started. The idea was that since @Boggzy and @Ahskance had a lot of game experience, this would be a unique way for me to familiarize myself with the game while interacting with all you awesome players out there!
Hmm that is a very good point that I hadn't considered. I still plan on trying them out, but I for sure wouldn't be surprised if they aren't the class for me or would require me to get familiar with over time.
Thank you! I am also primarily a BB main, and while I grinded the US Line (Montana) to Tier X, I plan on working on German BBs and hovering in the low-to-mid tiers to get my skills up.
Funny you mention this, because this was a detail that Ahskance showed me in the introduction! Pretty neat strategy.

Focus Points of the Week
As I mentioned in my hiatus post, I had to deal with some personal emergencies these past few weeks that required virtually all of my attention outside of work. I had a vacation planned that I ended up having to scrap due to these emergencies as well, so as you can imagine there wasn’t a lot of time to play and apply new strategies. I’m hopeful to pick up at my usual pace next week.

I just wanted to let you know that due to a series of personal emergencies followed immediately by a planned vacation, there will not be a new entry in the New Player Captain's Log on 3/29/22 OR 4/5/22. I haven't had a sufficient amount of time to play the game and thus I won't have much to share.
However, I did want to create a thread just in case any other new players (or experienced players, for that matter) wanted a space to be able to discuss their weekly experiences, ask questions or just have some lighthearted discussions!
Can't wait to be back with y'all on 4/12! Until then, fair winds and following seas!
