You've bumped into two problems.

1) Pressing the Xbox button on your controller disconnected you

(Not intended - working to fix)

2) Folks are having a hard time connecting to EA across all titles right now

(Not related to the update, or Battlefield V, but its going to affect your ability to play right now)

I'll share my other comments made on that thread here for transparency:

We recognize that this is true, in addition to the opposing feedback from people who prefer otherwise. Choice is at the forefront of the decision. If folks choose to make use of this, they're welcome too, if they prefer to exist in the game using the native faction skins, that's fine too.

As the usual disclaimer - the belief is that this is all fairly well locked in (hence why we were happy for folks to capture and show it off) but as with all and any pre-release content taken from a dev environment, some things may change and as thing stand, we dont have locked in dates for when you should expect to see these release into the Armory (or if some are coming as Tides of War awards).

Enjoy the gallery all the same and thanks to /u/TheWestie4321 for sharing!

It is seen. Thank you. If I hear anything (no pun intended) from the team both on what's causing it, and what we could do to address it, I'll let you all know.

So we believe, and we're developing a solution to the problem to set it back to it's normal behaviour.

Thanks for letting me know. I don't know of anything else that we can try right now beyond waiting for the team to develop, verify, test, and deliver the Hotfix that we're planning but if I discover any way to work around it, I'll let you know!

Hey there, Could you please check with the devs about the Dark, now Pitch Black Armory on DX12 on AMD GPUs? It’s been an issue since launch and there’s been no fix or information regarding it. It’s infuriating.

We're tracking this and will hopefully add this to Trello with some detail tomorrow. For now, I'm told that turning off DX12 helps with the issue, but I get totally how annoying it would be.

Ignoring? Not at all. I'm tracking this topic of conversation super closely, and will continue to both represent and share your thoughts and feelings on the matter.

Until I'm told otherwise, this is how Battlefield V will behave when War in the Pacific starts on Thursday.

The dashboard bug is back. Whenever you dashboard/click the Xbox home button, the game disconnects and boots you right to the home menu, doesn’t matter being in game or at the home screen. Very annoying.

That's one of the two issues that we're tracking here (the first one listed in the post).

This is hopefully something we'll get fixed this week, ideally before War in the Pacific kicks off.

Interesting, I've run into game sharing problems three times this week: once in D2 and twice in BFV.

Each time a call to support fixed it. Maybe it's an Xbox thing rather than a BFV problem?

In this instance, we're confident it's us but if we apply out fix and the issue still persists then we'll pick up the phone to our friends at Xbox for sure. Thanks for the heads up!

How do you mean when you say Disabled? You physically removed your Xbox button from the controller?

If you're seeing the messaging relating to the Trial User aspect, check out this article and make sure that your Xbox Profile (presuming it's the owner of Battlefield V) is set as the Home Profile

We always strive to do that! I'm based in Stockholm right now and sit between multiple Project leads that I can engage with faster on to help get this information first from you all, to the teams who can investigate, and then back out to you!

So let's set a new standard now that I'm here!

Not an issue, but will we be able to use US/JAP characters on firestorm come Thursday?

Potentially not. Priority has been on delivering content and experience for the core of the Multiplayer. It's not to say that we won't revisit that in the future for Firestorm (alongside other things), but as expressed last month in my Update ahead of 4.6 release, focus has been placed on the Core of Battlefield for the time being.

If it was as simple as changing a 0 to a 1 in the code to enable the new factions then for sure it would have been done, but my expectation here is that there's a significant amount of work that has to happen to enable to right User Interface experience, and to make sure that we're not overloading any memory buffers by doubling the size of potential skins and cosmetics that could be used.

Thanks!

Hey folks,

Wanted to let you know that we're tracking the two issues below as a matter or urgent priority for Xbox Battlefield players:

  • Some Xbox users who have previously held an EA Access subscription are being disconnected from EA Online if they press the Guide button during gameplay

This is a recurrence of an issue we have previously patched, but a different cause. We are working at full speed to correct the issue

  • Game sharing on Xbox is not behaving correctly for multiple accounts on the same Xbox

If you make use of the Home Xbox functionality to share access to Battlefield V with other users on the same Xbox, it's currently detecting the additional profiles as 'Trial Users' and preventing you from accessing the full game as normal. This is unintended and we're working to correct that as fast as possible.

We'll be updating our ...

Before the pacific, they could use the skin half their matches, if dice didn't take this direction, the players would only be able to use the skin a quarter of the matches, if that makes sense. :) If an overwatch-skin (for example) suddenly became restricted to only be able to be used half as much as it was when it was bought, people would probably be annoyed. There is the aspect of "historical accuracy" here too, sure. Not all players who paid their hard-earned cash for the skins care about that though. DiCE has to weigh "historical accuracy" vs "players getting what they paid for" here. It's a burning coat, so accuracy is already out the window, haha. :) Cash speaks loudest....so...

Sure... Being able to hide cosmetic for other players could be nice... I doubt that will happen though. But we can hope, I guess. :)
