Also there would be much much more stuff to blow up for the players and everyone likes that.

Not the destroyed building fortifications though because the buildings are intact when the round starts but most other types pre built.

Thoughts?

I think that it would ruin this meme and I’m not about that today.

I’m officially awarding you meme of the week.

I may have just made this award up, and it’s likely that there won’t be a meme of the week next week, but for now, I want you to know that this is it.

Thank you for this!

It's good feedback to have about the Defenders. That's possibly the type of data we can pull to see if this caused more headaches for defenders.

Anyone have specific map/sector examples you can remember that you feel we should focus on?

I appreciated just having the game mode back it was a welcomed change. I do like the changes to arming and disarming the M-Coms. Just overall making more like Battlefield 3's rush settings was amazing!

What I would like to to have more of the atmospheric events like when playing Rush on Operation Metro...the giant explosion to open up the Subway tunnels. Battlefield V needs something like that!

What if on say Marita...the castle that's on fire begins crumbling down on the map with large spectacular debris. Or a plane were to fly into the castle to cause this? Just it needs more...life!

Sooooo levelution then?

😅

(j/k - I personally like the suggestion! - Thanks for the feedback!)

Can we see a player increase for rush 32vs32? Its been done in the past and was good to leveling up weapons because it was pure carnage.

I'd like to hear what others have to say about this one. Breakthrough we've kept at 32 players to give that much more chaotic scale in this style of sector based mode. Rush we've historically opted to keep lower because it allows for a better focus on teamwork and squad play.

I've also heard others suggest 24 players - what's everyone elses thought?

(Thanks for the feedback btw! 👍 )

Interesting! You preferred the original version of this vs. the Battlefield 3 implementation that we went to with this one? What do you feel was different and could be better if we went back to the original way?

Post

Evening folks -

At the start of the month, I volunteered that I'd bring back Kenturrac (Matt - /u/Kenturrac) who last spoke to us in July regarding the changes that we were intending to make to Rush for Chapter 4. Since then you've all had the chance to jump in and play, and so in advance of us planning when to bring Rush back, and what to do next with it, Matt is back to talk with you about your experience playing Rush during Week 4 (and that extra weekend we tagged it on to prior to Marita).

To properly introduce you to Matt, he's a happy, bright and easygoing level designer who likes Doggos, electric skateboards, and other nice things! So logically he has designed some of the gloomiest, grittiest and most intensely murderous maps of BF1 and BFV. Who said Germans don't have a sense of humor? // ...

There are parts of it that may now work properly however our final tests this morning revealed that it's inconsistent so we're not confident to declare it as fixed, and list it in the Update notes.

We'll keep you updated on it. For now, we're reevaluating a fix for it for 4.4.

Post

Hi folks,

We have an update rolling out tomorrow (7th August) that will look to eliminate the most common cause of crashing across all platforms, alongside an additional and separate fix for Practice Range. This update otherwise adds no additional content, or makes further changes to Battlefield V.

This update is anticipated to clock in at around the 800MB on PC, 500MB on Xbox One, and 450MB on PS4.

Deployment for this update will start in line with our usual schedule, and we won't require any downtime to drop these updates:

  • PC -       1AM PT // 4AM ET // 9AM BST // 10AM CEST
  • PS4 -     2AM PT // 5AM ET // 10AM BST // 11AM CEST
  • Xbox -   3AM PT // 6AM ET // 11AM BST // 12PM CEST

What’s Changed?

  • Eliminated the most common cause of crashing on all Platforms, across all game modes
  • Separately fixed a different issue, addressing a hard crash in Practice Range when interacting with Planes
  • ...

I'm looking into this one with the teams and I'll edit this comment when I have more.

My initial understanding is that we can't advertise X, but sell Y and there appears to be a clear mismatch in the thumbnail and content. This would have necessitated an immediate refresh to content that we know is behaving correctly.

I'll be back soon as I can with more.

Edit: The team have confirmed to me that this indeed what's happened here. We can't display the content as one thing, but have it link through to a second, different set. We presently do not have the correct Render (the thumbnail that advertises the thing) of the content that was available for purchase and so we can't return it to the Armory today. I've asked for additional clarification on the two sets in question, both in terms of their respective correct set names, and when we presently have them scheduled to be available for purchase. I'll also follow up on that with clarification on w...

For f**ks sake, these poor CMs DICE won’t tell them anything.

Not at all the case. The next piece of news we'll have on this topic will be 'Hey - we have this fixed now, and the map will be playable with our next update'.

We talk to the team regularly about the topic but the intricacies of the problem aren't fit for discussion. Next piece of news will be that we've fixed it.

Operation Underground: Fast Action Below Street Level

Fans of the classic Operation Métro map are in for a treat as we lifted the veil on another upcoming map: Operation Underground. Inspired by the fan-favorite Battlefield™ 3 map, it will deliver tight, infantry-focused action with more flexibility and new, fun ways to get around. The areas will be diverse, and different playstyles will be supported, as you fight through urban streets, courtyards, the plaza area, service tunnels, train platforms, and more. This one’s coming in October.

They are.

They are used. I prefilter out common messages (which are still counted) and read through each of the rest. It helps us to build up profiles of players which is why we've tagged in new questions this month regarding tenure with the title and class played. We can then use those profiles as more individual and human examples that helps to distiguish the person completing it from the inevitable bar graph it gets viewed as.

Hey folks,

We have a new Community Survey available for you here - https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BFVAUG

This month we're inviting your feedback around your experience with Battlefields Maps, Game Modes, Changes that you'd like to see made to the game, and some insight from you on your experience with Toxicity in the community when playing, or engaging with Battlefield V.

Through the last month myself and Jeff have focused more on working with the team to help raise the issues that you've passed through to us vs. digging into your survey responses and sharing back with you on what we've heard. Usually we'd be doing that as we issue a new survey, and last month that didn't happen so let's fix that - here's what you told us through June and July:

  • EA Plays announces improved your expectations for Battlefield V and d...
