SERIOUSLY? I get that some extra size is needed to overwrite, decompress etc. But a hundred times over!?

This is how the PS4 behaves with all game updates, for all games. It clones the existing full install of the game to modify it and then removes the other.

It's not behaving correctly on PC. Is presently fine on Xbox and PS4 and working as expected.

Looking into it in case it's anything sinister.

Edit - All seems to be behaving correctly now :)

For at least the first 2 days we'll keep it to Marita only. We could maybe change it up later on in the week, but I think folks best appreciate the chance to jump in and play new content right away vs. playing the Server Browser game.

In all seriousness, it's sad people have to resort to such behavior to get a point across. Ruins the name of the community to such an extent.

I report them via the same method as any one else - in extreme cases I've pinged it directly to the team to put it higher up the queue (in instances where the player is actively breaking various parts of the TOS and disrupting all players experiences).

I understand it to some extent. It's my job to be hear and talk to you and fairly, some folks are frustrated right now. I understand that this gets directed at me and I can appreciate it for what it is vs. being an attack of any kind.

I'll volunteer that when I'm playing in servers, Chats usually pretty respectful and decent toward me. I quite enjoy having the chat on most rounds (until the usual bizarros appear and earn themselves a few reports)

I understand the mindset of having maps of varying sizes, but the Arras - Devastation - Hamada TDM triple rotation was my personal favorite to play (Arras and Hamada are still good). If not, I'd ask that you guys at least keep the future map sizes a bit more varied than Mercury or current Devastation.

It's not that fun to be spawned in a corner that your team can't break out of.

Slide into my Reddit DM's (or Twitter if you prefer) with some notes about what you feel we could change with Devastation on TDM (or if 'Go Back' is simply the answer) and I'll see that it gets through to the right person. We don't get a lot of feedback from TDM players as they're often chased out of town by everyone else so I'm well up for hearing more from you!

An aside, from what you've and Braddock have been saying, it seems 4.4 is going to be a big update? 4.2 was a bit underwhelming.

The development cycle for the patch ends next week so that it can enter it's testing and polish phase. Next week is when I should have a good idea of what to expect. For now the headline features are very much the new maps and the rank increase to 500

Worth considering. I'll talk to the team. Would be good to hear from TDM players and what they think. In the past we've increased the frequency of the map on the general TDM playlist, would that be a good alternative or would TDM players still appreciate the higher chance of getting a round in on the new map?

Yeah we've done a few playtests on variants of it over the past month or so. We want to do it, we just need to make sure it's fun first. Same as with other notes about the map on the Thread, as soon as I know more and have hard fast facts to point at, I'll be back with updates.

Definitely noticed performance improvements with the last patch too which is great, DX12 playable again (maybe combination of Nvidia Drivers too) - a bit to go still,but definite steps in the right direction.

Rush will be missed though. It's been damn consistently fun.

Updates in the post - TLDR being that there's no new news, but it's still absolutely our intent to add the map into the Conquest rotation as soon as we can remove the Artifact problem.

Hi folks,

Following last weeks 4.2 deployment, we're deploying a small update tomorrow, Tuesday 30th July, that will enable Marita, and set live our two new Elites. This update contains no other fixes, or changes to Battlefield V.

These updates are anticipated to clock in at around the 500MB mark on Xbox One, and 300MB on PC. I'll update this post tomorrow confirming anticipated sizes for PlayStation 4.

Deployment for this update will start in line with our usual schedule:

  • PC -       1AM PT // 4AM ET // 9AM BST // 10AM CEST
  • PS4 -     2AM PT // 5AM ET // 10AM BST // 11AM CEST
  • Xbox -   3AM PT // 6AM ET // 11AM BST // 12PM CEST

There will be no general downtime for this update, and once it's available for your platform you're encouraged to close any active session that you have, and attempt to relaunch the game in order to start downloading and installing. Servers with players connected who are running the older ...

At last notification from the team, I was informed that this remains a UI issue. We thought we had a fix for it in a previous patch, this failed and the issue remains prominent.

My understanding is that it's telling you that you're doing more damage than you actually are. You are otherwise doing correct damage based on your weapon, distance, and where your bullet lands.

We reserve even numbered patches for use on an as needed basis. If we believe that we'll have fixes that can be deployed for an interim update without impacting the update that follows two weeks later, we deploy it. For now, our next scheduled update is 4.4 and I'll let everyone know if that changes.
