Yes, PS5 users can play with PS4 users and Xbox Series S|X users can play with Xbox One users. Unfortunately there is no cross platform support between playstation and Xbox though

The console version has a regular start menu with a dynamic background. That's what he's talking about. The PC version loads directly into the keep

Hey! Thanks for the response man! Glad to hear it's on the table. Do you have any clue when such a remaster might release down the line? I hope that's not asking too much, but I do really want to start getting into V2 as soon as I can, and saving 40gb of space would be a GODSEND for my computer. Thanks again, bro!

We want to time the remaster with a big content drop so that you don't have to download almost a full game of assets just before we drop a lot of new content ending up with another with another big download. It's a balance for sure

I would buy the game and all the DLC over again if I could get 10bit color on PC...

It's up to the engine team really. They are quite occupied with optimizations and next gen features atm but I wouldn't rule it out completely

We are currently investigating how to do this on PS5. I can't promise it will happen until we know what we have to do though

Not on PC unfortunately. I was also reading an old news post about Vermintide 1 being enhanced for the pro, and HDR was mentioned, but it never made it into the enhanced edition.

Is it a limitation with the engine? Surely Vermintide 2 is already rendering in HDR? Is proper HDR support even being looked at?

It's not really an engine limitation. It's more that the game wasn't initially built for HDR so it requires a lot of asset and shader changes. The auto HDR that MS implemented is an image based HDR implementation. If we figure out a way of doing that on PC we might implement it but our engine programmers are mostly working on optimizations and implementing new features for the next generation so I can't say it's a priority unfortunately

Unfortunately we are CPU bound on the xbox one family of consoles so a 60fps mode is sadly not possible regardless of graphics fidelity

kind of, it will allow you to be complete the earlier weaves but to really master the later ones you need a full group ofdedicated players

The best way to assemble essence is to play quick play weaves. That way you can play weaves on easier difficulties with bots and anyone can join. The ranked weaves are supposed to be difficult so doing them on your own is not recommended

Unfortunately no, since the old consoles' CPU is so weak compared to most PCs we had to change the enemy composition so you get less but harder enemies on consoles so crossplay can't really happen between PC and consoles.

Since your progress is saved on our servers everything will transfer over. The only thing we save in your actual save file is your offline progress, options and menu selections. I'm not 100% sure that your save file will transfer over but I can't see why it wouldn't

If you play on console without membership then you can play offline mode where everything works normally(most things at least) and you are forced to play with bot's, your progress can not be transferred though if you go to online mode but if you play online already you can however transfer that progress to offline mode, sorry if this is incorrect(or outdated) information, haven't been on console for a long time

That's correct

The reason we turned it off is that we got a lot of feedback from people accidently inspecting their weapons in frantic moments causing them to take unnecessary damage.

It's a design decision (I'm just a programmer) but I hear you.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. I know we've implemented a fix for the bot problem. Hopefully it'll be included in a hotfix very soon

I bought Vermintide 2 on release and it was maybe 50-ish gb (i don't remember for sure) and it was fine. I thought to myself, fine, it's a new modern game, I'll play it.

Then I played for a bit, and had to uninstall to make space for more games, and haven't touched it since, in no small part because it's simply so huge an install.

Now there's some kind of event going, and I wanted to check it out again, and it's 90 GB now. What the hell? I have no dlcs, nothing, what new content is there, that nearly doubles the game size??

Ok, I understand the thing about load times, although, I would myself prefer saving disk space, I don't mind load times, I can just alt-tab while the game loads and browse the web.

But the patches that keep the old versions on HDD... What is our hard drive to you - a version control system? :D

P.S. I liked the game itself. Wish I could play it withou...

Sorry for the late reply but the disk size is pretty much the base master version plus all patched content. The total disk space is the master version of the game plus all the patched content. This is just how Steam works. To reduce disk size we have to do what's called a remaster which means to create a new master version rendering all the previous patches unnecessary leading to a smaller disk footprint. The problem with doing this is that all players will have to download the full game all over again which is roughly a 60GB download at this point. It's a fine line to balance but once we reach a cecrtain limit we try to do a remaster. This works a little differently depending on platform but that's roughly how it works on Steam
