You know, everyone hypes of the skins so lemme shout out the gunbuddies. Y'all do some sick work on those. Honestly I think the gunbuddies are my fav items in the game
oh that's fun! which one is your favorite and why?

Sorry about this btw, we updated the way we sign our executables and it didn't play nicely with Windows 8/8.1. We reverted back to the old signing method for this patch.
We did just miss this in our test plan for the changes. We had tested both Win7 (minspec) / Win10 (highspec) but we didn't test these changes on Win8 machines. We've made sure that's been added to the future test sweeps for signing changes. Apologies for the inconvenience we hopped on it right away after players started reporting. Thanks for all the reports.
Glad you like the changes. EvrMoar recently joined VALORANT to help lead our Competitive design efforts, and we are super happy to have him on the team!
Since Act1 you all have given great feedback, and it's led us to target some larger rank changes and features which we've been working on in the background, and are excited to ship with the start of Episode 2 in January 2021. While we work on those we've tried to make some improvements along the way around allowed rank skill disparity, server select, rank distribution, and lots of matchmaking tweaks, and we appreciate your feedback and others (both positive and critical) on updates as it really helps inform where we focus our efforts.
So basically, they're working on things, but just continue reporting. As of now, that's still the solution they're presenting. No offense, but when will something actually be implemented?
I can give more clarity on that. We will be improving AFK detection over the early part of the year, and we will have new penalties added such as rank penalties for agent select doges and leaving in-game by the first two months of next year (or earlier). In the following month we will also be adding XP penalties and more severe queue time restrictions for AFKing.
We will also be evaluating potential bans for repeat offenders for later in the year who still keep AFKing despite the aforementioned penalties.
Read moreOr maybe add a way to « bind » skins to certain agents. That way, you have this set of skins for Sova, but another set of skins for Omen, Viper, etc. With a « default » set?
When I have time I'll look into the perf impact if we don't preload skins until the end of agent select. If it's not too bad, then I'll bring it up with some designers and changing skins during agent select becomes a possibility. No promises on any of this. Just wanted to reply and say I'm listening.
Thanks for the ideas and feedback!
Hey, you mind explaining the night market thing coming tomorrow?
That awesome feature is actually something our Store team built! My team just makes the cosmetics (art-focused). The Store folks should be the ones to have all the fun of unveiling it!
It's amazing how such a nice game was made during a lockdown. Thank you so much for your work, i don't have enough words to show how grateful i am for a game that changed my life in so many ways.
Same. I don't have enough words to say how much it means to us that you all care so much. This game has helped us all stay sane during a really, really hard year.
no update yet? :(
Give it a shot now.
<3 Thanks for playing our game, can't have a great PvP game without a great community. The competitive team saw your post, and we are glad you are enjoying all the work we are putting in. Hopefully we can keep making you proud in the future. We will be out there grinding with everyone, trying to get those ranks after those distribution changes >:)
edit: I also wanted to say, after thinking about my answer, that I joined a very talented team that has done amazing work. I've only been here a month, in all honesty I haven't even dipped my toe into Riot and working on Valorant. While I may be showing up on Reddit, explaining how ranked is working here or there, I'm lucky to be surrounded by the super talented team that poured tons of time and effort launching the game and making ranked awesome. Valorant is young, we will probably never be done changing and improving the competitive space. We are excited to be on this ride and we will be watching for feedback!
Oh, so that's a sheet of early concepts for Oni variants. You can see that some of those made it into the game and others didn't.
You guys are killing it keep it up
They're the best team ever. They've been working so hard despite being a small team and dealing with whatever horrible mess the year 2020 has been for the world. It's been a tough year for all of us (and all of you), so it's nice to see comments like this. :)
Valorant has the best weapon skins by far of any fps I've played
Hey, this this is really nice comment. Thank you for saying that about the team. :)
Will the new variant for the
OniIon Phantom be available to buy with radiants for players who already have it? I really like this skin.
Which one are you talking about?
Read more/u/Altombre question: do you calculate where the bullet hits by doing one RNG number on the let's say "x" axis and one RNG number on the "y" axis (or one RNG for one angle and one RNG for the other angle)? If you're doing this then you hit the middle of the circle much more often than you should because this way of calculating the bullet path does not properly account for the exponentially (squarely?) increasing area size of the circle the further you go up in diameter.
I was involved in an open source game rebuild project (JA 1.13) and they fixed that bug due to this exact reason. It's hard for me to explain in English but I hope you get my point. When seeing running accuracy it often seems like you fell into the same trap that dev team has.
If you want an even distribution in a circle you need to calculate this differently.

Hey! Super interesting question. I'm not a designer, I'm in insights - basically I do product strategy and data ecosystem work to help out with the gameplay space (agents, maps, balance team) to help us make better decisions there, so I actually don't know how to do this stuff!
This is a super interesting question though, so I'll make sure our designers see it. Thanks for bringing it up!
So ur telling me that if I didn't demote to bronze 1 I could be in silver rn? If only I just didn't play the day before the patch.
If you played after the patch, but still lost a game, nothing would have changed. It's not that you played a game yesterday, it's that you lost in general. It wouldn't have changed anything if you played today vs yesterday.
I wouldn't get hung up on one loss, you didn't get punished or anything like that because you lost one match. Your rank did not get effected more or less then anyone else because of one match. The change effected everyone the exact same, you didn't get any more or less rank then anyone else after this change.
Hope you all enjoy the teasers. :)
Here’s to growing more as a team in 2021, making even cooler stuff, and maybe even exploring new types of cosmetics! See you on the other side of 2020!
Cheers and love all around,

No, I'm not here. ;)
