I recently got vermintide 2 and I find that it consistently causes my computer to hard restart. Basically out of no where, my computer shuts off and instantly starts back up again. I've done quite a bit of googling into this problem, which many others have had dating back to 2 years ago.

Weirdly enough, this ONLY happens with this game. I've read people say that it's a hardware issue, which I have a hard time believing unless this game is seriously poorly optimized or something. I play tons of other games, many of which are much more demanding than this one, including some VR titles like HL: Alyx on the highest settings possible. For this reason, I don't believe it is an issue with my computer. Additionally, nothing is overheating. It's hard to justify buying a new part solely to play this game.

Things I've tried: reducing "Worker Threads" to 7 prior to launching the game, lowering the game graphic settings to Medium, upgrading my GPU drivers, and closing all other programs (other than Discord) while playing the game.

I'm open to any suggestion that isn't replacing a part of my computer... mostly because I just don't believe that Vermintide 2 is more demanding than streaming and recording HL: Alyx on Ultra settings in VR. I also do lots of other things that require heavy CPU and GPU usage which have never caused problems. Also, plenty of other people have had this issue only with Vermintide 2.

My GPU is an RTX 2080 Ti and CPU i9-9900k. This is the power supply I have: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/gWbwrH/seasonic-focus-gold-750w-80-gold-certified-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-ssr-750fm

Thank you for any help!

We had a chap or chapette in the helpdesk recently who experienced similar. Turned out their PSU was melting one of the (I'm going to say molex but perhaps there's a better term) molex plugs. V2 just created enough of a draw to make it apparent. Can't blame the game per se for highlighting that weakness, it just happened to be the trigger that caused the failing hardware to go over the edge.

So check temps, and check your PSU and connections.
