[2022] Have you ever shot a round in ground realistic that just goes straight through someone?

Most probably it shows connection issues between you and server.
Jump here: https://warthunder.com/en/tournament/replay/ and check server replay of your battle. You will see how server saw your game. Most probably due to lag/packet loss, your game client render the shell/enemy with delay.
