Every major build has performance optimizations. They aren't going to put a major focus into overall optimization until after the games leaves Alpha though. It's a complete waste of time to do so.

That said though, performance in a21 has been pretty good. Especially in cities. I still get some dips when moving fast in a vehicle, but overall it is better than a20.

This is correct. Even though I headed up end-user support for the game for years, I still had to apply and qualify for internal testing. Doing testing on dedicated servers, especially Linux is kind of my niche. Doc Hussey can attest to the fact that I was even declined from a few of the early applications. He was lead on that bit of QA at the time.

I have no problems with the game, to be honest, but my friend have 3 problems with it.
01. Memory leak:
He fixed it by closing and opening the game from time to time, like every hour or two.
This is common if you don't meet the recommended specs. (Either the hardware isn't there, or isn't available due to bloat.)

Originally posted by D.A.R.K.: 02. Huge POIs:
Usually Tier 5, he can't play inside there, his FPS goes down to 13 at best. Now that we'll have Tier 6 as well (and I assume, even bigger POIs) he simply can't play, and there's nothing he can't do, isn't even about the quantity of zombies inside (this is a problem as well) but it's because the POI is so big that rendering the blocks is an issue.
It's because of the windows. This is fixed in a21 already. There is a mod you can install that helps this currently.

Originally posted by D.A.R.K.: 03. 7th night red sky:
This is a problem even I have, everybody here have, when the sky goes red, we lose easily 15 to 20 FPS, something that I want to know is there's a way to remove that, I'm gonna even open a thread talking about it. In case of my friend, because of the number of zombies, from night 42 or 49 and beyond his FPS is too low and he can't play.
This isn't the red sky doing it. Most likely the issue is the AI calculations for the horde, and not having enough system resources to properly process it. There are a couple of mods that may assist you with this.
Also noting that it should be better in a21, but your mileage may vary depending on hardware.

Ok, a few things here.

1. Most games don't care about your CPU. They only care about your GPU. 7 Days does a lot of calculations, and a lot of data loading. This demands a lot more from your CPU, RAM, and storage than almost any other game.

2. If your CPU is hitting 95C playing 7 Days, either you have a laptop or really poor cooling.

3. That kind of latency indicates that your system is having trouble maintaining the data being handled in that location. Given that your CPU is running hot, you're either maxing out the capabilities of it, or it's being heavily throttled due to temps, or both.
