20+ min to create a map. Thats crazy. I thought they said in one of the A21 dev vids that they had sped up random map generation.

It's a reasonable suggestion, given that we don't currently know the OP's system specs, or how big of a map they're trying to generate. A rule of thumb they've been targeting is 1 minute of generation time per 'K' of map size.
