Standard feature of playing a game while it is still in development. You want a game where you don't have to wipe saves after a major update? Don't purchase EA games.

literally all we need is a screen similar to the load save screen that shows us the worlds we have and what version of the game they were generated in and delete and rename buttons
why cant we also pick a name for the world?
I don't know what reason the devs might have, but one significant reason I can think of myself is the way saves are dependent on worlds.

If you had worlds deletable from within the game itself, It would be WAY easier for users to inadvertently remove a world that is necessary for a save they care about; When it's out-game you need to consciously go to find the save and you're more likely to be aware of exactly which one you should or shouldn't delete.

Originally posted by Teratus: Not sure if there is a way to do this already but it would be great to have an in game tool that would allow us to easily save a building as a template in it's own little game file that we could then use to import/paste that same building into any new worlds we make.

I've seen people do this in minecraft, build something then copy and paste it elsewhere in the world.
If it would be possible to do the same thing but have it so that your favourite builds could be easily ported into new versions of the game despite the requirement of needing to start a new game, that would honestly be amazing.

Wouldn't just need to be used for preserving your base either so you could "continue" where you left off with a new character.

It would give players all sorts of creative freedom to design their own POI's or simulate raiding other players bases in a solo PvE setting.

Could even challenge yourself by intentionally making a heavily fortified base, importing it to your new world and then trying to raid it for all your old loot.

And I don't even need to talk about the Mario Maker levels of potential this feature would have for 7 days players when it comes to the ability to upload and share your saved base/POI files so other players can download them, add them to their own worlds and explore/conquer them.
I have no doubt that such a feature would be massively popular in the long run, especially if there was a rating/comment system for uploaded builds so people could give feedback/review them.
This is possible to do. Since a17 there is even a build-in conversion tool to update the POI blocks into the new version.
