Using G635 I know the exact direction of anything around me, and almost exactly how far away it is...

At 1500 hours you've also adapted to how bad the sound is compared to OP who has 100. :P

I wouldn't say the directional sound is impassable, but it's barely passable.

Basically this. I do really hope that it gets worked on more. I'm not expecting full surround directional capability, but even just the ability to tell left from right more often than not would be great.

Not saying I don't want full surround support either. It may be asking a bit much from the engine though.

This is an indication of a hardware or driver issue on your friends PC.
