Yeah, This has been one of my biggest complaints with the Steam forum.

What you do, is check your post history instead.

Right now I might see a topic in general and be like "we'll I'd like to participate in this one but it's a question so next time I look for it it won't be here anymore, eh screw it".
And yeah they should be putting the questions in the questions forum but the questions one is no where near as populated and it's clear the "forum culture" is to use the general topic for whatever you can. It's like fighting the tide apparently.
We are stuck with an impasse here in multiple ways.

We leave the topics, General Discussion is flooded, you can't find anything, and popular posts get lost. The is doubled even more by Steams stupid default setting of only 15 posts per page.

So when moving topics, I can leave a redirect. I can even set the length of time the redirect sits there with some options. An hour, a day, a week, a month, or permanently. 90% of the time I move a thread to the correct sub-forum, I set it to an hour. Gives it some time so people can find it. If I feel the thread might be more commonly looked after/is a popular topic, then I will set it for a day.
Yesterday I decided maybe I'll set it for a week. Now we have this thread.

Either people will complain about the topics being moved to the correct sections, or they will complain about the redirects to the topics cluttering things up. We cannot win, so we choose the best medium. In working with this community for a few years, a one hour redirect seems to be the way to go. Though people still complain that they cannot find their threads regularly because they haven't figured out how to click on the "Post History" button that's right over there below the forum sections. Though I suppose that make sense since they didn't find the forum sections in the first place.

..I would hope that you're aware that 'topic details' is in fact the details of whatever given topic you are looking at, And not a sub-forum to the General Questions subforum....Please tell me you're being sarcastic. :winter2019neutralyul:

It was merged into a thread in the General Questions subforum, Because it is a question with a concrete answer, Is self-acknowledged by you to be a General Question, And matches a recent topic; So both sets of information are in the same place now.

Sylen explained above why there are currently so many 'Moved' indicators. Normally we only set them to stick for an hour; This time Sylen tried something different and clearly noone likes it. Thats fine; We'll just stick with an hour.
