Save file incompatibility doesn’t bother me, because I don’t *have* to update to A21 if I don’t want to. In fact, when A21 experimental is released, we’ll have to opt in to get it. If we do nothing, Steam will keep us on A20, until A21 stable is released. We’ll have plenty of time to decide whether to transition to A21 or not before it’s automatically downloaded. And even if we try A21 and don’t like it, we’ll be able to switch back to A20 and continue our A20 saved games if that’s what we prefer.

The new alpha won’t be forced on anyone. No one *has* to abandon their A20 game at any point in the process. I know you weren’t saying that per se OP, but I fear some will still assume A21’s going to fall out of the sky one day and wipe out everything they did in A20.
