Happy Icetide, Freelancers,
The cold winds are howling once again, depending on where you live. All the way down past -40°C/F in Edmonton or...a nice, pleasant 14°C/57°F in Austin.
Okay, one of these places is clearly not Icetide-ing hard enough. Still, no amount of cold can stop us! And that goes for Freelancers (like you!), too. Be sure to bundle up, though.
To be a Freelancer is to be separate from the people you protect. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it can be hard. A Freelancer stands out from the rest. Freelancers are the heroes, paragons, and renegades of Bastion, looked up to and feared by the everyday citizens. But some Freelancers embrace the solitary aspects of the role. Some forgo a squad and venture out into the dangers of the wilderness on their own.
This week’s lore story goes into the tale of such a freelancer. Bountiful Hunt is a story about Freelancer Kiir and an adventure she undertook by herself. Be sure to read this Icetide lore story if you’re curious to hear a tale about a Freelancer who doesn’t necessarily follow the same path as the rest—though one could certainly say each Freelancer treads their own unique path.
Additionally, we’re looking to release an update to the game sometime this week, currently we’re aiming for tomorrow. Release notes will be provided around the time of the update, so keep an eye out!
