369s another stream here for age of empires
371s 4. uh it's been a little while since our
374s last stream
376s but we wanted to come back and get at
377s least one more stream in here for season
380s one as things are starting to wind down
383s uh season one festival of ages hopefully
386s you've been enjoying it so far uh the
389s season's been going on for quite a while
390s now and yeah we're gonna chat just a
393s little bit about season one
395s what we've had as a bit of a review
397s there we've also
399s got some talking about what's coming up
400s in the future
402s as well as a look at some ugc which
405s brings me to uh
408s what we're going on here so i'm grant
409s community manager for relic
410s entertainment obviously working on age
412s of empires four and we've got a special
414s guest you can see
416s beside me on the stream probably on the
417s webcam already chris rubior who is
420s joining us to talk a little bit more
422s about ugc and
424s some of the amazing content people have
426s made and what that looks like and what
428s where we want to go a little bit with it
430s so
431s yeah chris if you want to just maybe
434s introduce yourself and let us know a
436s little bit about what you do for the for
438s those here who might not know
441s sure um you know number one thanks for
443s having me i appreciate it
444s um
445s i'm what you would consider a designer
448s um you know i'll start by saying you
451s know i've been working in rts since 1994
453s one of the first games that i ever
455s worked on
456s was dune to the building of a dynasty
458s for the sega genesis followed by command
459s and conquer thereafter i've uh i've
462s worked with the creative franchise
463s director adam eisegreen um for
466s some uh two decades now so been around a
468s long time uh love rts with a with an
471s undying passion worked on a lot of games
473s and uh pretty stoked about that so uh my
477s role on the world's edge team i'm more
479s of a tactical designer i work with our
481s various partners like forgotten empires
483s relic on a day-to-day basis
485s um working with them on systems content
488s creation uh bugs and just a variety of
492s issues that come up throughout the
494s development of the project i kind of
496s always like to say i work in the shadows
498s i just you know my goal is to
501s just work with the teams to drive for a
503s high level of quality and content and
505s then provide
507s experience and and help guide our design
510s teams to you know just deliver great
512s things so
513s um but yeah i've been on world's edge uh
515s for about three almost three years now
517s uh working on age four
521s awesome yeah and i i mean
523s a lot has happened i mean age four
525s you've worked on it obviously for three
526s years there so you mentioned that's kind
528s of before everything up and to launch
530s but also now we're obviously in the kind
532s of live operations the game is out but
534s we're we're still making content stuff
536s is still happening we're still putting
538s out updates stuff like the season here
539s and then the big thing obviously and
542s kind of what we want to talk about today
543s a little bit more is ugc
544s uh
545s so
547s definitely a really cool thing and it
549s lets people make what they want but
551s chris to you what makes ugc so special
553s like what does that open up for the
554s community
557s it's it's a huge part uh
560s of our age franchise all of our products
562s have it
563s um but that being said i think
566s above all else it definitely gives
568s players the ability to customize and
570s expand upon the contents
572s that that's there it allows them to take
575s this great foundation that we we built
579s and expand it with new ideas i love ugc
582s i've actually in the past hired
584s designers um into companies uh based off
587s the ugc content that they created um and
590s which you know usually starts with maps
592s or you know uh experiential content uh
595s like missions or or campaigns
598s uh but you know to
600s for us you know we we as a as a
603s publishing arm as a developer we
604s continue to you know release new content
607s but
608s you know it's amazing seeing all the
609s great ideas that our community has and
611s then giving them the power to be able to
613s implement those ideas
615s some amazing things for the game comes
617s out of that so
619s for us you know ugc is just
621s something that provides longevity for
623s years to come and i i will tell you you
625s know
626s unlike previous age games where the
628s tooling was a little bit simpler we
629s actually
631s have given the community and content
632s creators essentially uh the full-on
635s development tool minus a few things you
637s know a few tweaks here and there but um
640s so and and we worked very hard to try to
642s make it easier to use for players as
644s well which actually benefits the team in
646s the in the long run so
648s a lot of great stuff uh and we believe
651s i'm looking forward to seeing all the
652s great stuff that our community creates
654s going forward so we're only three months
656s in you know thousands of mods have been
658s created uh hundred a hundred thousand
661s plus downloads of mods i mean i i
663s haven't even looked at our latest uh uh
666s data yet but uh
667s players really dig this stuff and
669s there's a lot of great mods out there
671s and uh really impressive to see uh what
673s what our community has done
674s yeah it's definitely really really
676s exciting and i just i just saw in chat i
678s just want to mention yes the person
680s asking yes we are live this is not
682s pre-recorded both chris and i are here
683s live but also ugc we've been using that
686s term here a few times and this stands
688s for user-generated content uh
690s this is anything made in the adren
692s persport content editor beta uh this was
694s put out alongside season one when that
696s launched and we've definitely seen
699s a lot a lot of really cool stuff from
701s come from our community members so far
703s uh
704s there in the past stream we had michael
706s konkin come on and show a little bit of
708s a demo of how to create ugc and there's
711s a lot of documentation actually on the
712s website and from other creators out
714s there
715s to get you started it's it's not like
718s you can get something made pretty
719s quickly which is a nice thing you can
720s just hop in play around follow some
722s quick tutorials and you'll have
723s something and then it's
724s you can learn and continue to build as
726s chris says like this this is a thing
728s like realistically the more you do this
730s the more you'll customize and who knows
731s maybe there's a future for you at some
734s point down the line in kind of like the
736s design side of this if you if you really
737s enjoy it
739s uh here's you know
740s if you don't mind me jump it in there
741s grant go follow it one of the things you
743s know uh that is pretty amazing about the
746s tool is that we have these wizards that
747s essentially allow you to
749s you know for example creating maps
751s um it'll actually create uh the the
754s terrain off a template as well as uh
756s incorporate a palette of textures for
759s you you know many ages ago uh you know
762s we had to you literally take you know
764s great height maps shape all those height
766s maps and then come up with our own
767s textured palettes and as designers we
769s had to kind of do it all herself
770s uh but one of the things that's awesome
772s that we've done with this tooling is
774s that we essentially give you kind of
775s this really cool foundational head start
778s so you can generate a map
780s creates all the splats and palettes for
782s you as well as gives you it gives you
784s kind of a pre
785s uh edited uh height map that you can
787s massage and work um and modify which
790s i've done uh plenty of times and as
792s somebody that um you know
794s i come from the background of map making
796s map making is actually a passion of mine
799s for as a designer even though i do
800s systems and other types of design i
802s could make maps for days it's just
805s something that i just thoroughly enjoy i
807s love it when environments you can create
808s environments that tell stories but um
811s you know to be able to
812s basically use the tool use the wizard to
814s create um these maps just basically
817s generate a fully playable map and then
819s go into edit saves you days if not weeks
822s worth of work uh to get something up and
824s running and then be able to
826s export that up into our system so other
828s players can see it's kind of really cool
830s it's you know for me it's almost like
832s you know an old-school designer it's
833s like magic being able to see all this
835s come together so quickly so the team has
836s done an amazing job working to make the
839s tooling um easy for uh content creators
843s to get into
844s yeah i think that's nice thing is like
845s you mentioned that the generator like
847s the wizard tool there it is kind of
848s magic it gives you a good base to start
850s from you don't have to spend all that
852s time getting the fundamentals and
855s changing things one by one you're kind
856s of tossed into that you have something
858s to work with and you can customize it
859s how you want from that point
862s also really
864s really interesting thing i saw actually
865s come up in chat and this is part of
867s something i actually wanted to talk
868s about is
869s the map creation there's a huge huge
872s dedication in our community for it and i
873s see
874s dr dabstin in chat says they have a map
877s contest they're making which is really
878s awesome which means we'll probably see
879s some more really cool maps come from
881s there
882s but back actually in may aussie drongo
884s had a map making contest as well and it
887s was cool to see this being a community
889s led initiative by people passionate
891s about making these maps who want to see
892s what people can make
894s i believe there was a pretty decent
896s price pool i think it was around a
897s thousand dollars and people were told to
899s make their own maps and there were some
900s really cool entries in there uh some
902s people made stuff like throwbacks to
904s past age games uh oasis from age two for
907s example um yeah so it's just really cool
910s to see what the community is making and
911s like this dedication you can
914s just go at it hop in and start making
915s maps publish them in just a few clicks
918s and someone else can try it out which is
920s really cool how quick that turnaround is
923s yeah no no friction really easy to use
926s and uh it's you know if you haven't made
928s a map go give it a try it's really i
930s mean it it it's really just several
932s clicks and i think the the the hardest
934s thing that you're gonna struggle with
936s is uh
937s uh coming up with a name for your map or
940s or your tuning pack um or your mission
943s so uh but that being said it's it's
945s really easy um you know we love seeing
947s this content i i love browsing through
949s the mods section tuning packs generated
951s maps crafted maps
953s and just kind of
955s throughout the day maybe downloading
956s something and taking a taking a look at
958s it to see what our community is doing
960s and you mentioned something earlier uh
962s one of our community members held a
963s contest and i haven't seen those maps so
965s i'd love to work with the community to
966s take a look at those top rated maps and
968s you know with regards to you know uh
971s incorporation in the game that's
972s something we can talk about with our
974s community team and and and evaluate we
976s do have to make you know we do go
977s through kind of a quality check on a lot
978s of our content a rigorous quality check
981s so but that doesn't mean that there's
983s nothing we can't do down the road so
984s definitely we'll work with the community
986s to make sure we see those maps and get
987s them in front of my uh get them onto my
989s desktop
990s yeah definitely and as mentioned the
992s content editor currently is in beta
994s there's definitely going to be more work
996s more customization more stuff that
997s you'll be able to do with it in the
998s future uh we just wanted to get
1000s something to you to get your hands on to
1002s get those mods out there as quick as
1003s possible which is really awesome yeah i
1005s would like to highlight too i know beta
1006s you know it's like oh it's it's not
1008s finished yeah there's a lot we i i
1010s pushed hard for beta because i wanted we
1012s have a there's there's a lot of new
1014s features that we want to add over time
1016s there's a lot of improvements quality of
1018s life improvements so we felt that
1019s keeping it in beta was the best way uh
1022s to you know it was best for the
1023s community and and really kind of
1025s communicated that this is still work in
1026s progress we're still building on this
1028s tool to make it super awesome and just
1031s better for our content creators over
1033s time you know i i i'm always jealous of
1036s age two in the other games they've had
1038s you know two decades worth of time to
1040s kind of hone and shape their experiences
1042s we've you know we're at six seven months
1044s now so but um i can i can assure
1046s everybody in this stream and in general
1048s there's a we have you have a dedicated
1050s team across our partners and within
1051s world's edge that um is working to make
1054s this game apps continue to make this
1056s game amazing uh even more so than it is
1059s yeah and i i think that's the cool thing
1060s to think of is there's going to be more
1062s coming to the editor like this is this
1064s is not all you're getting there's going
1065s to be more options more things to do
1068s uh
1069s definitely something to look forward to
1070s with that but in the meantime like you
1072s can hop in you have this product you can
1074s start you can hop into this editor and
1076s start making something right now and as
1078s the editor changes or revolves over time
1079s you can continue to evolve or change
1080s your maps as well and
1082s take things in new ways which is awesome
1084s to see
1085s basically you're in charge of what you
1086s want to play as well and what you want
1088s to share with the community from your
1089s side
1093s indeed awesome uh so
1096s talking about some ugc
1099s chris i think there are a few different
1101s mods and pieces of ugc that you really
1104s liked uh from the community that you've
1105s taken a look at so far
1107s yeah i mean some of these you know go
1109s without saying they're really cool some
1111s are some age two
1113s uh you know inspired by uh when it comes
1115s to content you know nomad is one of
1117s those that's top of the list
1119s it's a great mode
1121s for those that aren't familiar with
1122s nomad basically you start with three
1124s villagers that are kind of scattered uh
1127s and uh basically you know you can kind
1129s of pick your location um where you want
1132s to set up your settlement essentially it
1135s reminds me of it's kind of it's very
1137s similar to how we used to do cnc back in
1139s the day where you'd start with an mcv
1140s and kind of drive it around and deploy
1142s it where you want it's a very similar
1143s concept
1144s simple mod but nonetheless a lot of fun
1147s a lot of download a lot of people a lot
1148s of players are enjoying this right now
1151s so if you haven't checked it out you
1152s want to try something a little different
1153s uh nomad is definitely a good way to go
1156s it's it's definitely it's a bit takes a
1158s bit getting used to because you have to
1160s kind of readjust your brain to how you
1162s allocate your resources early game
1164s because you have to build everything
1165s from scratch
1170s awesome yeah nomad is definitely like
1172s there are a lot of cool mods out there
1173s and definitely i think one of the cool
1174s things is just go take a look go look
1176s through the
1177s the browser see what's out there and try
1179s some of them out
1181s yeah and you know with
1182s i always look at everything as when it
1184s comes to h4 and how we have you know our
1187s interface and ui especially on the front
1189s end you know phase one phase two we're
1191s looking at ways that we can improve um
1194s access to the you know mods making it
1196s more accessible so this is something the
1198s team you know we're all exploring how
1200s can we make it easier for players to
1201s download mods you know basically
1203s reducing friction in the process it's
1205s everything that takes time and all of
1206s this comes based off of player feedback
1208s so
1209s um yeah it's and that's a great thing
1210s about our community incredibly vocal
1212s which we love um and you know we're
1214s working hard to just make a better game
1216s for everybody so the next the next mode
1219s that i want to talk about it's called
1220s advanced game settings and i actually i
1222s this is this is great when i first saw
1224s them like holy cow how did they you know
1226s they really this this this uh this
1228s content creator went in and really made
1230s a bunch of of cool uh features
1233s uh basically it adds you know uh like
1235s what
1236s five five new win conditions to the game
1240s um gives you the option to uh you can
1242s either play nomad or when it comes to
1245s setting up your settlement
1246s um you have a bunch of different choices
1249s it adds treaty to the game so you can
1251s you can set a treaty for five to ten
1253s minutes before players attack you got
1255s different types of victory uh your you
1257s do have team victory conditions
1259s um as you know there's a team solidarity
1262s option so um if you're looking for
1264s something unique and to add a little bit
1266s more flavor to to the current offering
1269s um there's a lot here i mean there's
1271s even a regicide option which i'm kind of
1272s like wow that's awesome that they did
1274s that as well as an option to have a game
1276s only about score so if you haven't
1278s checked it out super easy to download um
1280s once you put it once you kind of
1282s downloaded and subscribed to it you
1284s would find this under game setup and
1286s you'd basically under you would change
1287s your game mode and you would find it
1289s under uh mode so it's super easy
1293s to access but does add a lot of flavor
1295s to the experience
1297s the next mod that that was really
1299s awesome to see of course was a castle
1301s blood automatic made its way into h4
1304s inspired by h2 for those that don't know
1306s castle blood automatic um basically it's
1309s about destroying your enemy castles once
1311s the player loses all their castles
1313s they're basically defeated instantly
1314s everything's removed from the game
1316s that's it so
1317s an age 2 inspired mod kudos to the to
1320s the content creator that brought it
1322s forward there's there's a couple
1323s variants to castle blood automatic on
1325s the mod in the mod system right now so
1328s it's definitely something that you'd
1329s like to check out played a few games
1331s it's great the content creator did a
1333s great job uh bringing that forward and
1335s then of course it goes without saying
1337s the plethora of pop cap mods that you
1340s can find
1342s in the system which is great you can
1343s find it seems 300 is the magic number
1346s for a lot of games right now
1349s and that's awesome to see but there are
1350s pop cap mods for a thousand um just you
1353s know
1354s there's there's no shortage of mods to
1357s download in this area you even have some
1359s mods that combine pop cap with other
1361s ways to play um which i'll highlight in
1363s a second here i actually created a mod
1365s that does just that um so yeah a lot of
1368s really cool stuff and if you you're just
1369s looking for something to change the pop
1370s cap mod 300 seems to be the sweet spot
1373s for a lot of players out there so a lot
1374s of good games
1376s um it's great seeing
1378s to me when players make crafted maps
1379s that's there's a lot of work involved
1381s and i'm not you know i'm not saying
1382s there's not a lot of work involved in
1383s creating tuning packs you know
1384s manipulating data um can be a laborious
1387s task but uh you know creating a
1390s generated map or creating a crafted map
1392s from scratch is is a is a lot of work
1394s and and uh takes a lot of time and
1396s there's if you go into our system a lot
1398s of players getting their maps up right
1400s now even even generating maps and making
1403s modifications to those using our wizard
1405s is is really awesome to see we've seen a
1407s mount mountain pass with walls variant
1410s which is a play on a map that we shipped
1412s with
1413s basically a fresh take on an existing
1415s official map another map that i i've had
1418s a lot of fun with is called royal rivers
1420s basically river valleys
1422s just really cool how the designer went
1424s in and laid things out and the rivers
1426s that you have to cross and crazy's
1427s really cool kind of land obstacles that
1429s you need to
1430s move through so really good job there uh
1433s but you know if you're looking for a
1435s different way to play there was a lord
1436s of the rings map too that i was you know
1437s i i worked on a lord of the rings game
1439s many years ago called battle middle
1440s earth which was a lot of fun uh so i'm
1442s always always love seeing lord of the
1444s rings i'm a big fan of lord of the rings
1445s so i always love seeing uh inspired by
1447s maps and it was great seeing uh there's
1449s even helms deep i think that's work in
1450s progress as well so kudos to those
1453s content creators uh looking to have some
1454s fun
1455s um and then uh you know something that i
1458s put together with our production team i
1460s wanted to give our designers an outlet
1463s to be able to experiment with ideas um
1466s really radical ideas and
1469s not have to go through kind of the
1471s mainline version of the game where it
1472s has to go through an update patch and
1475s this is an idea i've always wanted to
1476s experiment with in rts games that i've
1478s worked on but it just we didn't have the
1480s right systems in place and age four
1482s brings all these great systems in play
1484s being able to auto you know download a
1486s mod and then it automatically updates
1488s when the content creator uh creates an
1490s update so we have a really awesome back
1492s end so but this mod um it's basically
1495s aoe 4 mod labs and this this alias is
1498s set up to allow designers both myself as
1501s well as partner teams to create
1504s just really fun radical mods and then
1507s get it out there for individuals to try
1509s the reason i say the reason why we
1511s created this is because we want to
1513s experiment with ideas are there new ways
1515s that we you know that maybe ideas that
1516s we have that we want to see what players
1518s think about you know is there a new way
1519s to play age uh a new way you know do
1522s players like you know fully symmetrical
1524s maps uh you know we we but this is an
1527s opportunity for us to try new things and
1529s we have a couple mods out there right
1530s now one i created called age plus which
1533s basically shortens all of the
1535s uh build times for units and structures
1537s to accelerate gameplay and this is
1539s something that you've seen in other
1541s games as well as i moved walls to age
1543s three and and tweak some siege
1546s based off of what i saw in the community
1547s so but more so um i wanted to experiment
1550s with what players thought of build times
1553s do they want a faster paced experience
1555s that maybe would kind of accelerate it
1558s to about 20-25 minutes i don't know we
1560s don't know so we're in a kind of a data
1562s gathering mission to help kind of inform
1564s our decision-making uh going further so
1567s and this is a great place to do it
1568s because it doesn't impact the mainline
1570s version of the game
1571s so expect to see more from us in the
1573s future as it relates to mods and cool
1576s ideas and we'll work with the community
1577s team to potentially promote those so we
1579s can get your thoughts and and see what
1581s you like and what you don't like
1583s yeah that's that's such a cool different
1585s kind of channel to get these experiments
1587s almost out to the community there so
1588s this is just the aoe 4 mod labs is the
1591s creator so they can kind of keep an eye
1593s for what's coming from there right
1595s absolutely and that's you that's a
1597s variety of designers it's an alias i
1599s manage but you know the idea is to work
1600s with content
1602s our designers across all of our partners
1604s as well as if i get some just radical
1605s idea on the weekend and decide to upload
1607s something
1609s then i'll do it so
1610s fun stuff something i don't think many
1613s devs have tried before and i think it's
1614s uh we'll see if it works hopefully
1616s players uh you know hopefully it does
1619s yeah hopefully some people here on the
1620s stream who want to take a look at what
1622s we've just talked about and we'll give
1623s that a subscribe check it out in game
1625s and try it out yeah you know the tooling
1628s it's a great tool um super awesome to
1631s use uh and i know that they're you know
1632s for some if you're coming from age two
1634s or or you've never worked in develop you
1636s know with a tooling before like this it
1638s can be a little bit it can be there's a
1640s little bit of a challenge there um you
1642s know uh outside of the wizard like
1644s creating a map or it's just some very
1646s templatized uh content so but you know
1649s my advice would be stick with it
1651s especially you know this is a great
1652s opportunity especially if you're looking
1653s for a games you know a job in the games
1655s industry um having you know like i said
1658s i hired designers that have created mods
1660s in the past really great mods you could
1661s tell that a lot of passion was put into
1664s this content um that you know scored it
1666s landed them a job at uh at a publisher
1669s developer so there's a lot of
1671s opportunity but more so you know
1673s it's a great way artistically to express
1675s yourself um and you know it's a way it's
1677s a great way to to to just you know keep
1680s the game that you love and enjoy live i
1682s i content mod creation is is such an
1685s awesome thing especially when it's it's
1686s easy so but i will tell players content
1688s creators with time the tools will get
1690s better um we will we're going to
1692s continually improve them we have we have
1694s dedicated resources to this i'm working
1696s very closely with these teams
1698s you know i want to make the tools easier
1699s to use as well
1701s you know
1702s so definitely stay tuned i would love to
1704s talk about a roadmap but just not quite
1707s there yet so we're still gathering
1708s feedback from our content creators and
1710s players and internal teams to kind of
1712s hash out and plan out exactly what we
1714s want to do but there are a few things
1716s that i could
1717s uh probably call out eventually towards
1718s the end grant whenever you want uh that
1721s that are highlighted since we're talking
1723s about ugc and that i think dow's a good
1725s time yeah go for it yeah
1727s yeah so um you know i can i can't say on
1729s our our future facing
1731s plans um you know we are looking at
1734s incorporating state tree support which
1735s would give content modders uh much more
1738s uh flexibility in um
1742s managing
1743s and creating new types of units and
1745s functionality so we're gonna go even
1747s deeper with that tool we don't have a
1748s timeline for it but uh it's it's
1751s definitely hot on my list to get in
1753s asset swaps so you can re-skin your
1755s units structures i'm sure the community
1757s is going to love that one when that
1758s comes out
1759s yeah as well as providing some options
1762s for camera tuning so you can tune the
1764s camera however you want again no eta
1766s just yet but uh as soon as we have more
1769s details we'll definitely share that with
1770s community but that being said i can tell
1771s you we have a list of over 50 60 items
1775s that we want to get done and that's just
1776s the start
1778s yeah and that kind of comes down to
1780s again talking about how this is
1782s kind of a beta of the content editor
1784s there and it's going to continue and
1786s it's going to evolve and we're going to
1787s see where
1789s where we can take this over time
1791s yeah absolutely i'm excited you know i
1794s love the tool uh with a passion i do
1796s stuff on the weekend i make mods on the
1797s weekend
1798s um so it's it's definitely a lot of fun
1801s it's a great tool the team at relic did
1803s a great job uh putting it together and
1805s you know a lot more to come so super
1808s excited
1809s yeah and i just see i just want to give
1810s a shout out right now i see in chat
1812s k-a-s-v kaz v aoe uh has joined us with

1848s editor that's in beta as well as just
1851s kind of a little bit of where
1852s where things want to go

1868s if we look season one is coming to its
1870s close very close
1873s to us it's just a few days away season
1876s one closes on the 30th at 10 a.m uh
1879s definitely want to hear all of your
1881s feedback on the season this was our
1884s first of them there are going to be more
1886s uh some of you probably seen the roadmap
1887s there are more seasons planned more
1889s content more fun but we do want to know
1891s what you think about the season so the
1892s best spot for that if you're not
1894s is already there is to go over to the
1896s age of vampires forums and
1899s basically share your feedback there
1900s there's going to be different threads
1901s people have already created uh so that's
1903s a good way to get your feedback to us on
1905s the community team as well as to the
1907s developers we share all of that with
1908s them
1910s and then there's also the age of empires
1912s discord which is not necessarily meant
1914s for communication with the developers
1916s directly but it's a good way to talk to
1917s other members of the community as well
1919s you can share feedback you can share
1921s your mods there with each other like
1922s it's a great way to get that going as
1924s well
1925s yeah so that is kind of as we come
1928s towards the end of season one here uh
1930s let me just grab the next little thing
1933s here so this is
1934s just gonna pull up our road map that we
1937s revealed earlier uh so this is the
1940s current road map we recently shared
1942s talking about what's coming for age of
1944s empires four here uh the fun it the fun
1947s well season one is over the fun is not
1948s ending we're still going uh and this was
1950s over on the age of empires.com blog
1952s where we shared this
1954s uh so it gives us a glimpse of what's
1957s coming in the near future as you see the
1960s show map goes from june all the way
1961s through november and beyond
1963s so
1964s definitely if you want to read there is
1966s a good post on the age of empires
1967s website you can read in depth as to
1969s what's coming we break down a little bit
1970s more about some of these things on here
1972s but
1973s very very near is we've got the season
1975s two public update preview beyond that
1977s there is going to be season two which
1980s obviously is going to have ranked season
1981s two
1982s uh seasonal events
1984s new there is a new map coming called the
1986s pit which looks really cool uh
1988s definitely get some more information on
1990s that for all of you soon uh and then so
1993s this is the big kind of theme of season
1995s two is customization and we've heard
1997s that you want to be able to customize
1999s the game you there are some of these
2000s things you've wanted for quite a while
2001s and we've heard and we wanted to work
2002s with the team to make sure we get these
2003s out but not just get them out but get
2005s them out in the right way where it makes
2008s sense and that it it feels kind of
2010s familiar and at home to the community so
2012s you can just use these features and
2013s understand how they work so some of
2015s those include the fully remappable
2017s hotkey system that's mentioned there uh
2019s some of you are already seeing this if
2020s you're part of the pup uh the
2022s public update preview uh definitely
2024s something to sign up for if you're not
2026s already part of that there will be more
2027s of them in the future uh player color
2029s picker and the map preference system so
2032s these are all great ways to customize
2034s kind of
2035s how you'd like to play the game uh
2037s that season two more information on that
2039s will be coming in the near future as we
2041s share that with you and then after that
2043s there'll be another public update
2044s preview we're trying to currently have
2046s these before each season so we can get
2048s some of these updates out and let you
2050s check them out
2052s and then the next season after that
2054s would be season three again seasons
2056s they're here to stay we really do think
2058s that seasons are a lot of fun for the
2060s community we've seen people really enjoy
2061s them the there's different rewards you
2063s can kind of go through this see your
2064s ranking it's always fun uh
2066s definitely it was fun watching elliot in
2068s the past with some of his road to rank
2069s streams and maybe we'll look at doing
2071s something like that in the future
2073s who knows maybe we'll find someone we'll
2074s just hunt down one of the game designers
2076s developers get them to do some play time
2078s but for season three we have a lot more
2081s coming as well these are a little bit
2083s a little bit more like less cemented
2086s some of the concepts there's there's a
2087s whole and more which there's definitely
2089s going to be a lot to talk about but
2090s ranked team games are one in there
2093s taunts and cheats i know these have been
2094s something the community's been talking
2095s about for quite a while as well and then
2099s number balance changes bug fixes those
2100s are kind of we try to have those
2102s whenever possible always a good thing to
2104s fix bugs i'm sure our team would also
2106s agree and all of you do
2108s and a lot more so that's kind of what's
2110s going to be coming in
2112s season two and three in the near future
2113s and this this is our current road map we
2115s will continue to update road maps and
2117s share them whenever it makes sense
2118s whenever it's possible and we have
2119s something
2120s new to share
2122s um
2123s yeah so
2125s i guess that's pretty much the big thing
2128s there so today's stream we wanted to
2129s talk about season one see how
2132s how that's all unfolded with that ending
2134s very soon uh have chris join us to talk
2137s about the ugc the mods and the different
2139s amazing content all of you in the
2141s community have made and then give you
2143s this little look at

2146s website this is kind of just the roadmap
2147s we're looking at definitely do head over

2155s shown on this image it's a pretty decent
2157s breakdown and then as soon as more
2159s information on stuff like season two or
2162s all of that is available we will be
2163s sharing those with you as well and
2165s throughout this roadmap there will
2167s continue to be patches including balance
2169s updates and bug fixes all throughout as
2171s well
2172s uh yeah so i guess this
2176s brings us pretty close to the end of the
2178s show i know originally we were thinking
2180s this was going to be just a little bit
2182s of a shorter stream but we thought it
2183s was worth coming on to get a stream to

2235s the team is really dedicated to
2237s continuing to improve
2239s uh the overall experience you know the
2241s first one out the door we knew that
2242s there would be additional improvements
2244s that we had to make so it was great that
2245s we got the feedback but
2247s with each new season uh that we that we
2250s kind of launch it's just going to get
2251s better and better i mean we have there
2253s are individuals that are incredibly
2255s passionate about making this a great
2257s experience for for all of our players so
2260s just expect to get better with them uh
2262s expect these to get better with time um
2265s you know love i was going through the
2266s chat i loved you know love seeing things
2267s like oh new sieve
2270s you know you got dlc all that good stuff
2273s um you know waypoints visible waypoints
2277s i can there's a lot of great stuff
2279s that's in the works right now um that
2282s you know we can't necessarily talk about
2283s but i read a lot of this and i can say
2285s we're looking to address that we're
2286s looking to address that i'm looking to
2288s address that so
2289s um we hear you we definitely hear you
2291s and the team is working really hard to
2294s to make these
2295s to make it happen so
2297s just a lot of work big game
2298s lots of features and uh but i i
2301s the team is is is they want to we're
2304s going to continue to make this great so

2307s that's the thing is like the feedback
2308s you share with us makes all the
2310s difference like we do listen to it uh
2312s from the community team we look through
2313s it regularly and we share with the
2314s developers but they're also there they
2316s have full access they can check out the
2317s forums they can
2319s go read stuff and very often they do
2320s i'll have a member of the development
2322s team reach out to me being like i saw
2323s this on the forums can you get me more
2325s information or can you reach out and
2326s figure more about this and we do like
2328s they they are reading it it's not just a
2331s community team the developers are in
2332s there as well uh pretty much anyone
2334s who's here working on agent fires we
2335s want to see this game be the best it can
2337s be so we're we're all out there reading
2338s your feedback yeah it's and it's great
2341s stuff keep it you know keep the feedback
2342s coming um you know in the mod forms on
2344s the official forums you know
2346s on steam wherever you want to post um
2349s you know please if you have feedback um
2351s some suggestions
2353s please post it up there because that's
2355s you know it's it's that feedback in
2357s addition to you know all the things that
2358s we find that's just gonna help drive to
2360s make this a better product so uh you
2362s know i know some sometimes it's kind of
2364s tough to hear certain things but that's
2365s just you know we're here to make a
2367s better game for our players and that's
2368s that's the most important thing so
2370s um yeah i can't stress enough that we
2373s our team is incredibly passionate and
2375s dedicated to making this an awesome
2377s experience and
2378s i wish i could talk about all the cool
2379s things that are in the works but
2382s i know our production team would just
2383s kill me yeah they would hunt you down
2385s it's one of the things like we do
2386s there's a lot of cool stuff coming and i
2388s know all of you
2389s are looking forward to it we are too and
2391s as soon as there's stuff we can share we
2393s we very we love to share these updates
