[2020] So hyped for the Caustic change

The slow still exists, and your passive still protects you from the slow of being in an enemy Caustic's gas. I agree it's not much of a passive anymore, but honestly I'd consider enemy highlighting in your gas to be your real passive.

I do agree this is probably a nerf. The vision blur was a huge part of the power of this skill, but it was also reliably one of the most frustrating experiences in Apex. It made fighting back feel like not even an option, and even if you could fight back, the experience of having everything, including your sights when you ADS, blurred just felt really awful.

I'm super down to hear ideas how to put power back into Caustic that isn't just "you can't see while you're in my effects" or "I win every end game circle for free".

The same amount of gas still appears on your screen. By vision blur I mean literally visioni blur: things that would be sharp and in focus otherwise are blurred and out of focus: your gun sights, enemies, whatever.

We want to be very careful to maintain the identity of barrels: they're traps, which you've got to set up in advance, not impromptu in-combat grenades. That's what your ult is for. I think all the steps we've taken to reduce the usability of barrels mid-gunfight are important and should be maintained. That doesn't mean there aren't other ways we could buff the barrels, but I don't want to end up back in a world where Caustic treats his three barrels as basically free mini gas grenades.
