Is it Chinese or Japanese? I speak both languages but this doesn't really make sense to me. Although it does sound like a Chinese nickname.
Japanese, otherwise it would be "HuDa"instead of Kodai. Yeah it's not really a common name, in both Chinese and Japanese 大虎 would be more common I think
