Original Post — Direct link

Hey all.

Until now, we allowed posts that showcased another person's art, videos or other fan creations without explicitly requiring people to credit the original artist or provide a link to the source.

Although many of you provide credit when posting somone else's work, over the past few months we have noticed an uptick in posts that try to pass off creations as their own. We have also received community feedback asking for the rule to be revised, and we hear you.

Effective immediately, we are enforcing new guidelines for artwork/fan creations:

When posting someone else's work:

  • Titles must include the artist's name.
  • A comment with a direct link to the source is required.

When posting your own work:

  • Mark it as OC (original content).

Posts that do not follow these guidelines will be removed.

With this change, we have two goals in mind:

Promoting transparency at the time of submission

Asking users to disclose the artist's name and provide a link to the source eliminates any doubt around the author of the work.

Ensuring a fairer community for artists

This subreddit is home to people from all walks of life, who share a common interest in the game. We want to elevate artists and make them feel welcome posting their creations here, without fear of their work being reposted without due credit.

We hope this change helps everyone understand that crediting artists is essential, and we can only improve as a community if we all commit to recognizing the hard work of others.

TLDR: Credit artists if you're posting their work. Mark your own as original content. Thanks for your help and feedback.

That's about it for now! Have any questions or suggestions? Let us know in the comments or send a message.
