[2019] Structure (metal specifically) painting mod?

Hi folks - I'm new here (but not to the game) and am excited to read everyone's posts. I learned some stuff already as I've been reading for the past half hour or so seeing if my question had already been answered and getting a feel for the sub. Normally I lurk for awhile, but I'm too impatient for this issue to wait a couple of weeks first! I hope you'll forgive my haste.

I ended up here when I started searching to see if there is a mod for painting metal structures. My husband and I (well, mostly him, heh. He builds, I gather, lol) were putting the final touches on a taming cage in extinction and the colors I wanted were very light. (It was in the cold biome). I wanted sky blue and white, to kind of "match" the ice flow we had built on. Well, as you can imagine, it looked terrible because of the rust that is on the metal. And when painting it with light colors, the rust shows right through as if it hadn't been painted. I mean my husband warned me, but I, of course, had to see it for myself. ;) (My husband is very patient with me, lol.)

So, I was wondering if there is a painting mod that can paint over the rust on the metal? You know, like what paint actually does?

We have our own server to run Ark on to play with family and close friends. He did the official servers for awhile (and I tried), but that's just not for me. I started playing with him when we could choose who we could play with, heh. Hell is other people. ;) Except for you all. You guys are lovely!

(I'm just being snarky. The official servers were not a great experience for me. The Alpha tribes were filled with their own greatness; holy cow the arrogance, geesh) and then the day came when the whole server was annihilated from some other tribe that zoned in. Because they could. I despise people being jerks because they can. No. Thank. You. I'll be happy on my little family server thankyouverymuch. lol)

Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts or knowledge about a mod that can help me out, I'd be grateful! We actually just started using mods a few months ago, lol. Hubby didn't want to have things that could be game breaking every time the game updated. (Too many years of playing WoW & then Minecraft, lol). But now that we have S+, the world of modding has opened! :D
