[2019] How to get my tamed dinos home?

So I am a total noob been playing for the last 13 ish hours and loving ever second. I spawn in the south region because they said easy (this is on the island) I'm level 48 and I had no metal just the scraps i got from some stone nodes. (Not found any metal nodes near my base at 55,85 on the map.) Anyway I looked up what dino I need for metal farming and the anky came up. So I looked on the wiki and it has the spawn locations on their so I had a look and theirs some on the island in the bottom right. ( I've heard this referred to as herbivore island at 82,85) so I headed over found a sh*t load (what I think is a sh*t load probably isn't a sh*t load.) Of metal and found a nice low level stego and bronto. I tamed them both. Now I want to get the anky and get out of here.

I arrived at the island on my pteranodon. If I set the dinos to follow me and fly back home(Not directly because my pteranodon has low stamina I need to fly to the main island then fly along the coast back home) if I fly will the stego bronto and anky be able to swim all the way to the main island and follow me without drowning? Their all less than level 5 so have pretty crazy stamina and oxygen.
