I'm so glad this change has finally been made, but there is only speculation on the new mechanics that these bans are based off of. The dev team should at least give an idea of how these mechanics work so there aren't cases where people are wrongly banned/dev wiped.

As an addendum, don't have people in your tribe go under the mesh either and if you can't stop them from doing it you should cut those ties before they drag you down with them.
If you destroy a base by using exploits on one server will you be wiped on every server or just the server you meshed on? The tribe that meshed us was wiped but only on one server and it was a fob not their main base. Their main base on another server is still up and running. Cheers!
If we find that a large portion of a given tribe is cheating that tribe will stop existing.
I'd also like to add that we are not close to finished with our work here. If you have information on a cheating tribe or player please submit a report here.
This wasn't some big enforcement push or anything, it was just Tuesday. There is plenty more to come.
I hope you complete your war path on crossark10. Everyone banned just made an alt account and because thier main base on island wasn't wiped they still have everything :c.
What if we go under to defend ourselves from people meshing our base? Would we be banned for self defending from meshers?
Yes. You will be found under the mesh and banned for doing so. There is a chance you could appeal this ban but I wouldn't think it is worth the risk personally.
So what should I do about current mesh defenses for my otherwise normal base? If going into the mesh is bannable and mesh structures are a dev wipeable offense, my options feel pretty limited. I realize I broke rules, but I mean, that's life on console.
It isn't ideal but I would recommend submitting a ticket explaining the situation and requesting that a GM remove your mesh defense turrets.
Maybe someone needs to put this in perspective for you, since you guys seem to understand money.
If another company was stealing your code, and sometimes they got punished for it, but most of the time the courts just closed your case without addressing it, you'd be pretty frustrated.
now imagine when the court punished the criminals, you didn't get anything back for the damage caused. you just had to move on.
now imagine you tried to booby trap your code, but the courts said that was illegal, and that YOU could be in trouble for it.
so your stuff is being stolen, the criminals aren't being held accountable, when they're punished, you STILL don't get anything back, and trying to defend yourself gets YOU in trouble.
this is how your playerbase feels.
I have over 6500 hours in ark total, about 2000 of it on official. That's not even a lot compared to most of the official players, so you have to realize they have as much time invested playing this game as you have building it, if not more in some cases.

And much like the real world, booby traps ARE illegal. Most likely because they can also affect innocent people as well. We're working on resolving the cheating issue but the answer to that isn't to allow some cheating.
