So this is the official dream/unofficial nightmare.

As it stands people ON OFFICIAL servers can be caught and banned by wildcard via metrics detection.

IF this never gets added to unofficial, they cant use these servers to find holes in the metrics.

(This next problem is no concern to official players.)

BUT official players may invade as many unofficials as they want to deter them from playing unofficial due to meshing still being a thing.

Open discussion.

I've been hearing about this but i'm not quite understanding what it is. Does it actually alert a dev when someone enters the mesh? Or is it just extra information for a dev to review when following up on mesh tickets?

The former sounds exciting. The latter sounds great for pc still, but not really something that'll matter for console where meshing is the most rampant.

It allows us to catch and ban people who mesh whether they were reported or not.

Thanks for clarifying. Is this going to be something we'll be able to have on console as well? Awesome update either way!

The plan is to refine a bit on pc because of rapid iteration and then deploy to console.

Alright, I heard there were a few minor problems with it like the deathwalls in caves someone mentioned in a different thread.

But knowing it's coming is still really nice to know. If all goes well i know plenty of tribe-mates personally that would want to start playing again. Anyways, thanks for the quick replies.

If there's something wrong with deathwalls, it's unrelated to this. This is detection only.
