Hi,

I have been playing ARK for a long time, exclusively in single player mode or on unofficial servers with less than 5 people (PVE only, obviously). And I really enjoy it.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely KNOW that Atlas is designed as a MMO. No single player mode, huge map, etc. But you can have a private server. My question is for people who play on a private server, either solo or with 1 or 2 friends : is it fun ? Is there enough PVE content to maintain interest ?

I ask this because ATLAS is currently on sale, and I read there was a big update. Thank you in advance for your advice.

My opinion is clearly biased but I think you'd get enough fun playing with one or two players. Some things would definitely take a lot of time to do and some things would be more complex to handle without NPC crewmates to assist you but they can be done. The exploration alone and sailing along has always been one of my main draws to the game and if you had a several node server to play on where you could just sail along and explore I think you'd have plenty of fun.

Thank you !

About NPC crewmates, do you mean that you can't recruit any NPC on a private server ?

You can recruit them. Was just saying that you will likely need them as opposed to them being optional.
