Ahoy Pathfinders! Welcome to the Official ATLAS Forums!

Draw your eyes across this parchment for this here thread contains our Official Forum Articles of Agreement.

Official Forum Articles of Agreement

All sailors, swashbucklers, and landlubbers are invited to join the forums and participate in discussions (notwithstanding any VAC bans on Steam you may have). Though fair thee warned, you’ll need to abide by the following rules;

1. Respect all members of the community. Any behaviour that involves racism, discrimination, or personalized harassment (outlined further below under ‘Warnings’) will not be tolerated. You will quickly find yourself thrown overboard.

2. Do not continually bump threads or post spam. Bumping server adverts is acceptable, as long as it's done once per day.

3. Do not create posts discussing in-game and/or forum bans & warnings.

4. You are not allowed alternate forum accounts.

Follow these four simple rules and none of ye shall meet the hangman.

In addition to these rules, we also have a few guidelines;

Moderators:
They are trusted members of the crew, here to keep the peace and help out as much as they can. They largely address issues regarding the Forums and are unable to officially address in-game issue/bugs or reports against other players.

Posting:
When creating a post, make sure that it’s in in the correct category. Your topic may be moved without warning by a First Mate if it is placed in the wrong category. Avoid duplicate topics where applicable. Refrain from shrieking and squawking like a parrot in all caps and using extremely large fonts in your posts. Limit your topic post tags to a maximum of 10 total tags. Failure to do so may result in yer copping an edit from a First Mate.

If you would like your topic removed, please report the topic and let a First Mate know in the description. If you are requesting a server advertisement post to be removed, please await the removal before posting a new topic to avoid receiving a warning for having duplicate advertisements.

Warnings:
As stated in rule one, harassment will not be tolerated. Captains and First Mates will decide what defines personalized harassment. Try to be friendly and courteous with your fellow Pathfinders. We understand that on the high seas, things can get a little salty - however, we would ask you don't go overboard. If necessary, we will step in and scoundrels will be measured for their chains.

Failure to follow the rules/guidelines can result in a warning. You may receive a warning in the form of "warning points" for spamming, inappropriate language, signature violation, excessive topic bumping, or generally abusive behaviour. If you receive multiple warnings, it may lead to site restrictions, and eventually banishment from the forums; sinking down to Davy Jones’ Locker.

Inappropriate usernames:
You can’t have a username that is racist, derogatory, sexist, or generally inappropriate. You should also not use your username as a way to advertise. If deemed inappropriate your username will be changed by a First Mate, and you will be contacted to provide an alternate username which will be updated for you. Until your username issue is resolved, you won't be able to make any new posts.

Reporting Posts:
If you feel that someone's post(s) are harmful to the community, you can report their post and it will be sent to a First Mate. Please be aware that we take these reports seriously, and you should only report a post when you feel like it is breaching the articles of agreement. Refrain from mini-modding/backseat moderating and use the report system when necessary.

Topic Locking/Deleting:
Captains and First Mates (moderators) have full discretion to remove replies and/or lock threads. Threads that are disruptive to the community, including but not limited to: flame wars, fighting, and trolling will be locked. Reasons for locking the topic are generally provided by a First Mate at the time of locking. We usually do not delete forum topics and employ locking where necessary. However, in extreme cases, there may be a need for a topic to be thrown overboard, rather than chained.
