@kibracamonte35 @survivetheark If you had loaded up your save file on the previous server build (the one we launched with), then aye, we'd recommend a rollback. This patch is to help resolve the client issues we're seeing (crashes, invisible creatures, weird anims/poses, etc).

@Rpurser311 @CloseToInSaNe @survivetheark It's possible you've somehow avoided the things that would have caused problems i.e if you play on TheIsland or another non-expansion/paid-DLC map. However there will definitely be a fixed version of Win10 going out soon.

@Rpurser311 @CloseToInSaNe @survivetheark Mmm perhaps you were dealing with a different issue altogether, but we can confirm that the initial version of XB/Win10 that went out with Summer Bash would have been busted so the hotfix is a must

@CloseToInSaNe @Rpurser311 @survivetheark It's a 'minor' client patch, so you'll still be able to connect to servers without it, however I think it's set to force-update anyhow due to the problems it resolves. We've also recommended all our console hosts make sure they're on the latest version possible.

@CloseToInSaNe @Rpurser311 @survivetheark Usually only network incompatibility issues would prevent you from connecting, and we typically tie those to 'major' versions, so that's when the number before the decimal point increases. EG Summer Bash was major v800, increased from v799.

@CloseToInSaNe @Rpurser311 @survivetheark If it's the number after the decimal, it's a minor version update and not mandatory, though sometimes we'll have our host-partners update due to the severity of the issues that are being resolved.

@Rpurser311 @CloseToInSaNe @survivetheark Unfortunately not using a Win10 server. You could use a server hosted by a 3rd party and try changing spawn configs (NPC replacement/adjustments). This wouldn't add nests to the map, but could make those creatures spawn in. https://ark.gamepedia.com/Server_Configuration#Creature_Spawn_related

@Rpurser311 @CloseToInSaNe @survivetheark Ah yes, good point. Then right now no such server config exists, essentially an egg replacement. It's worth a discussion with the team for sure. Always open to giving players more customisation, just a matter of balancing with other priorities etc.

@BraunbeckBryan @ScorpioXBX703 @survivetheark Interesting, and this is after downloading the 21gb update, right? We'll continue to investigate. Once the other players have these latest fixes, the logs we receive about crashes should be more specific to help identify if there are further issues caused by the latest changes.

@Mdoyle2002 Nah, anything that would cause an incompatibility we would typically lock that into a major version update (so going from v800 to v801 (client incompatible), increases the whole number and is a major version patch), whereas 800.1 to 800.2 is a minor (client compatible).

The rollback is to restore things lost by the corrupt file that went out w/ the initial patch.

@tazman1983 It fixed the corruption, but the crashes we're seeing now seem to be related to something else, though we're iterating on a possible fix now, hopefully this is it and we can prep for submission.

@Olde8675309 @tazman1983 Two different issues, introduced in this patch, both caused problems but unrelated to one another. We fixed one with .14 but not the other as it wasn't identified until after .14 went live.

Fortunately this was just a binary change so the Xbox patch won't be too large (PS4 will be larger due to the core corruption). We've also released an updated binary on PC Steam which fixes the issue (and will soon release a binary fix on EGS also). https://twitter.com/NotDollie/status/1276806713752969217

@AlexLee856 @JordanParent988 Cert requires going through another platform (i.e consoles) and those teams/departments don't approve builds over the weekend, probably due to giving folks the time off, staff shortages, focusing on other things -- not sure precisely but it's basically Mon-Fri.
