[2019] The heck is going on with tames?

NA PVE has been falling below 100 total players every night lately but I did end up logging in today, and boy am I confused.

Basically the UI information given to you regarding tames is flat out just incorrect, at all times. I nearly killed one of my own giraffes that was stuck in the ocean because it ran out of stamina while I was trying to get it out, and the video game was happy to tell me "Stamina: 699/744" the entire time. It was only when the giraffe became visibly bloody, despite telling me its stamina and hp were fine, that I realized what was happening. I took out one of my bred bears to go get tame food and it says its weight is 7.0/1300 even when I gathered so much it became encumbered. According to the game, all of my animals are hungry but none of them will eat anything, and when I try to forcefeed their hunger doesn't go up (I tried multiple food types).

Also there is tremendous lag and rubber-banding, with 4 players in my tile and less than 200 players on NA PVE at this time. I realize no one is playing and that likely explains why I heard nothing about the game issues, and none of my friends and no one in my network of trade discords plans to play post-wipe (except me), but I'm just kinda wondering what happened to the game to make it actually just completely unplayable, which it is, at this moment.
