Dear diary,

Here's what I want Santa Jat to bring me for Christmas.

  • More Ship Variations
    • The Clipper is sized between a schooner and brigantine and is fast as hell. As a trade off, it doesn't support many guns. It is faster off the anchor than any ship and everything (sails, tames, people, guns) get a speed buff while onboard.
    • The Jong/Djong is twice the size of a galleon, has Asian stylings. It is slow as hell. It is massive. It is limited in how close to shore it can get. You'll want multiple galleons to take it down. It is grindy to make.
    • The Frigate is halfway between a brigantine and galleon, with stats in the middle of the two. It uses large planks in smaller quantity than a Galley.
    • The Steamship is the merchant NPC ship, but buildable by you. Schooner-ish sized. Keep it filled with coal. It ignores the wind, but only goes one consistent speed. Carries lots of cargo and has a built in player trading storefront.
  • Player Treasure Map
    • A 15 slot box that I can unlock in the piracy tree. Placing it in dirt or on the ocean floor will generate a map with its location (map is required in hotbar to dig it back up). If someone steals the map, they can steal my treasure.
  • Tame Gravesites
    • When your tame hits level 60+ and dies, there's a placeable headstone / grave marker in its inventory that can be placed somewhere special. Never forget. You can go to the grave and play the hit marker mini game for a temporary taming efficiency buff.
  • The Bilge Pump
    • Placeable on ships, unlocked in seamanship. Pumping depletes stamina. There's a hit marker mini game. Successfully pumping the bilge gives a speed buff and slows down sink rate temporarily. It gives crew sh*t to do. If you're planked, a player can work the bilge instead of using a bucket for a similar effect.
  • Spyglass NPCs
    • Equipping an NPC with a spyglass gives you the option to place them on "lookout duty". They'll stand in place and hold the spyglass up and look around. The higher their elevation the higher their visibility radius. They'll pop a notification on the screen "Your lookout Ugly Annie Nine-Toes has spotted a Cobra Lvl 13". It goes in the company log as well. Spyglass NPCs can be mounted to the tops of crows nests on ships. There's an option for the types of things you want them to alert you about.
  • Aggressive Options
    • Aggressive animals and NPCs have an option for the types of things they'll aggro to:
      • Everything (current)
      • Pathfinders & Tames
      • Wild Predators
      • All Wild Animals
      • Combinations of the above
  • Flaming Boulders
    • Craft them in catapults and they'll do a small fireball, start a fire, and explosive AOE on impact. Make catapults great again.
  • Eye of the Storm
    • Skill unlocked in Captaineering. Increased maneuverability, less damage, and less health hit during storms.
  • Iron Captain
    • Skill unlocked in Captaineering. While at the wheel, you can take more damage, even if naked.
  • Aerobatics
    • Pressing C while wingsuiting will do a random loop-de-loop or spin animation. Its harder to shoot you. There's a cooldown and a flight duration hit.
  • Solid Paint
    • Not everything should be stained. I want to paint white. Opaque white, dammit.
  • Legend of the Dolphin
    • High up in beastmastery. Fell overboard? Do a special whistle and a dolphin will let you ride it for 15 seconds while two others f*ck up all the sharks in the area via headbutting. 30 minute cooldown.
  • Cage Wall
    • Build jail cells properly and in style. No more railing stacks.
  • Plank Walking
    • Planks can be placed on the sides of ships. When captured players are "equipped" to the plank (like a noose, or gibbet) it initiates an animation where the captured player walks the plank into a massive, massive shark (screaming, blood, carnage)
  • Ship's Lantern
    • All the old time ships had lanterns on the back. They were squared not round. I need me one.
  • Drainage Deck / Ceiling Piece
    • It just helps you make cool looking ships. Its a square ceiling tile variant you can place on the deck with a criss-crossed pattern like on the deck of old ships. For deck water drainage, I assume.
  • Giant Squid Attack
    • I want tentacles coming up around my ship occasionally. Not often. Just every long now and then. Slowly munches the plank health. You kill it 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea style by attacking the tentacles like Hydra heads. Hatchets do extra damage. The arms can pick players up and throw them overboard. Yes, you get squid guts for crab taming this way.

I literally can't see myself or in front of me in polar regions because everything is so bright without lowering the gamma and even that isn't enough sometimes. There's no ingame mechanic to adjust for that.

Try gamma k in really bright regions :)
