You're right to call us out on it. We'll be updating the text on that later today to reflect that we don't have anything to share on it just yet. Focus right now is delivering the Pacific, and the changes coming in 5.0

Thank you for confirming. What changes are coming in 5.0?

I'll receive a first draft of the patch notes on Friday, and then work with the team as they go through their testing phases to ensure that they're accurate and best representing the changes (that process takes a few weeks as a general heads up).

We won't be publishing the update notes themselves until everything has cleared through our certification processes internally, and with our partners at Microsoft and Sony. We will release some information via Trello as we confirm what's being tested for fixing, but for the most part we're locked up till we have absolute confidence that the fix is effective.

That's what matters most. Anything we provide today would just be more words, and more promise. Until we've delivered our promises for the Pacific, we won't commit to new ones.

You all deserve results.

I pretty recently made a post explaining two issues brought up multiple times by others on here and tagged both CMs with a request to add to the trello board. I didn't ask for info about a fix, or anything that might be risky for them to say. They've still ignored it, and it's not on the trello board, so what's the f**king point of giving feedback when you ignore us? Lost a lot of respect for them for that

Not ignored, I just can't set a false expectation with you in relation to what's been targeted for fix until the fix itself is confirmed as fit to deliver.

Speaking of the "Pacific", we're in the third week of Oct. Any release date this year?

Dates are dependent on confirmation that our Updates are devoid of new issues, and ready to ship. We won't commit to firm and fixed dates until we're confident that we can deliver on Quality.

Any date on a trailer for chapter 5?

No date. We have one in mind, but won’t release it until we can also confirm the dates for the update itself.

So, I understand this and I can totally appreciate that you want to “put your money where your mouth is” but, what I don’t understand is why you guys are refusing to talk about things not tied to chapter 5. Things like the team balancer that was brought up by David as a top priority before he went on leave and Tank body customization which has had a “Soon” button on it for 11 months. If they’re tied to chapter 5 then by all means say that but right now they’re two topics that are being totally ignored. If they’re going to be included topics in the Letters from the front that’s cool too, but please bring us in from the dark a bit.

They're not ignored in terms of us seeing that these are still expectations that you have, and that you're notifying us have not been delivered on (alongside the commentary around Anti-Cheat, seeing Private Games come to Battlefield V, various cosmetics that have featured in past trailers), but perfectly to your point these things need more than just indications like 'top priority' and 'soon' to restore the confidence and quiet the noise.

Nothing would please me more than to lift the curtain but too many bad expectations have been set, and promises broken. Hopefully the last two updates (4.4 and 4.6) have demonstrated that there's plenty of quality being put into the updates, beyond just the new maps that have featured. This is something that is absolutely set to continue with 5.0 and the rest of the updates that will feature this side of the Holidays.

Back to your point, the instant we have concrete news to share on previously promised content, or unannounced quality of life enhancements we will. As it stands today, that reveal will primarily come in the form of our update notes.

What happened to having a CTE, like prior Battlefield's had? This was the best way for the community to provide quality feedback on what needs to be done to get the game into better shape.

Also Dice EA doesn't even have a place to report bugs/gameplay issues like they used to.

Dice devs completely abandoned r/battlefield_live... Since now there isn't a place to report such issues for BFV and no CTE this leaves the community with the distinct impression they are being ignored, or that our feedback is not valued.

Bugs and Issues can be reported via Answers HQ

https://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-V/ct-p/battlefield-v-en

In relation to your points about CTE, I'm completely open to the idea but there won't and can't be any news about it until there's something you can be hands on with.
