I want to hear DICE their honest opinion about this. And what they are gonna do to make sure this will NEVER ever happen again.

Just be honest with us, please...

Since 5v5's cancellation was confirmed, we've switched to only discussing content and features that we know are coming, exactly when they're coming. There were still misteps made in that 5v5 announcement as we incorrectly listed Operation Underground for September again, and that should have been corrected sooner.

We're more likely now to not release firm details until content is more locked, with the present process being that if it's not ready to ship, we should be more cautious about discussing. We need to be respectful of the timelines that have been presented to you previously, and how frequently they've been missed. Quality is our number one priority right now, and late shifts are going to bring disappointment.

Once we have your confidence again that you feel you are experiencing quality in the game, we'll have licence to push that quality through to our communication, and better ask for your understanding and forgiveness when we find ourselves in a situation where we will miss a commitment. In the interim, I'll be helping to correct bad assumptions.

So withhold more information, until just before release?

  1. Stop giving bad information
  2. Explain faster when something changes
  3. Confirm only when a release date is locked with content 100% ready, tested, certified and good to ship

Does this mean taking a step back from the 'roadmap' approach or will this be revisited after 'The Pacific' with the vision going forward.

Today it doesn't mean anything. We have one Roadmap out there, and how that gets replaced for what comes next is yet to be determined. I just wanted to signal that we may change tack vs. past and current behaviour.
