Although it isn’t officially said that they’ll increase the grind, knowing DICE’s recent crappy decisions (looking at you Pit Crew set) I wouldn’t doubt they’d do this.

Just looking through the next couple of weeks, they don't look impossible. The Tier Catch Ups are for those that don't have the time to complete them.

Personally, I'm a fan of catch up mechanics. I don't have a ton of free time anymore, so I try to grind through ToW as quick as possible. But there have been times I've missed out on rewards because I didn't have the patience/time to complete it.
Moment, I thought the catch-up mechanic is for the 40 levels of TOW and not the weekly assignments? Or am I wrong?
You're correct.
It's for the Chapter Rank Rewards, not the Weekly Rewards. You can already purchase Weekly Rewards with CC on the Friday/Mon after the week has ended.
How much XP are the upcoming ones compared to the current one?
They average about the same.
