100 upvotes isn't much for a meme here.

That's not true in the slightest. Read the rule. Memes with the highest upvotes on here consistently follow the same pattern. That is 100 or more upvotes for each of the first 4 hours.

Idk why the downvotes. 100 is a rookie number ;)

Cause people think they want every single meme to stay. We remove 100s a day. Some of them it looks like a 2 year old made them in 3 seconds. The other option would be to completely disallow all memes.

Front page doesn't need to be filled up with low quality low upvoted memes. We're a Battlefield V content sub first and memes second.

Read the rule. We don't just remove any memes. Memes that can't even gain 100 upvotes in a 1 to 4 hour period don't belong here.

I know man. It's the new generation. Sometimes the memes are funny though. Low effort karma grab.

We get a lot of good laughs every time someone sends us hate mail because we removed their meme that had 30 upvotes and 6 comments.

But it had a lot of traction and people were getting into the discussion!!

Yep. We have lives outside of Reddit. We either have to deal with some removal delays when we aren't around, or if people want consistency we'd have to make a bot that removes them, making people flair all memes as 'meme', but then also relies on us moderating flairs.
