Notes & Addendums

With Update 4.0 on June 25th, we encountered some significant issues that are impacting gameplay.

We're working with the Dev team to deploy a hotfix (Update 4.0.1) that will be both a server side deployment and a client update.

The following items are the focus of the upcoming hotfix:

  • Client
    • Xbox One Crash Fixes
    • General Stability Fixes
    • Missing Axis Male Facepaint Fix
  • Server
    • Client to Server Hit Registry Fix

Once we confirm certification, we'll share the date and rollout availability times. Stay tuned.

What about Invisible Soldier Skins and Al Sundan on Conquest?

  • These are also top priorities the team is working on and we'll have an update on the status and ETA as soon as possible.

Anyways, they're still working on it - it doesn't look like it will make it into this hotfix, so we're tracking for the mid-July update. We do have an On the Battlefield video about Al-Sundan that we'll be pushing out for it as well.

And two weeks ago I didn’t move it to Wednesday as it’s a CTA - Call to Action.

It’s really simple, man. If I put “Last Chance” on Wednesday and it ended before someone saw the post or knew, I get railed on here about not letting people know ahead of time.

Therefore, I post this as a CTA to let people know they have a limited time to complete the ToW Weekly Storyline before it actually ends.

And yes, I did thank you because I do appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, but this is how it’s going to be.

If its your "top priorities" Then a reply to my post saying yes or no to my evidence I presented should be something you should be doing. I posted already in here with a link to said screenshot and you can look up my post by yourself to see suggestions to see what the outfit could be.

Also you want us to buy XP buffs where in previous games they were free in crates cases? either the money pool for BFV is so low that you need to resort to this awful tactic or greed has become the top priorities for yous guys.

It’s actually not related to any specific skin. It’s related to a rendering streaming error that affects seeing some players clientside.

Example : you may see a player that isn’t fully rendered(invisible) but the player next to you sees them clearly.

Talking with the dev team 5 minutes ago, it’s not even skins that’s the issue. It’s an issue with the stream rendering that affects players randomly.

I noted an example elsewhere, but:

You and I are standing side-by-side on a map. Player C runs by. Your client doesn’t render Player C properly, so he/she looks glitched/invisible at a certain distance, but I see them just fine.

TL;DR - it’s a client-side intermittent (not affecting everyone the same) rendering issue based on distance from the other player.

I am working on this badass Community Broadcast/Letter from the Front that includes a 90 minute video about level design - the process, challenges, etc.

If I remember correctly, back in BF1, I think i heard a designer mention that it takes a minimum of 2-3 months per map. And that’s if they have it planned out (location, style, etc.)

Compared to some of the other issues, it was a really easy fix. This doesn't mean it took priority over other issues - the fix was found much faster and didn't take any significant time compared to other issues like the engine streaming rendering issue resulting in floating hats/invisible players (Just a note, to be clear - that issue isn't about skins. If it was, we could just disable affected skin until it's fixed. It's a bigger issue than previously thought when it first came out and is the top priority right now.)

Please check the OP - we specifically note Xbox One crashing issues and general stability issues.

Once we should have confirmation of Certification tomorrow and will have final final details on when the hotfix will deploy.

No, it's clear I'm not at liberty to discuss this particular topic at this time. That's literally it.

And before you downvote this, Dan wasn't the only one fighting to get something additional for Deluxe Edition owners who were with us before/during/after launch. I was the one in the weekly meetings, stressing the value perception from the community and the hit in sentiment - since launch. I've had multiple meetings with various teams about this since - and I'm not currently able to discuss the outcome of those meetings.

I’m really sorry you’ve had a bad support experience - and doubly sorry that you even had to contact support to get the content you had purchased. That’s not a great experience and I absolutely understand how frustrating that can be. If you have any case numbers you’d like to PM me, I can take a look when I’m back to work on Monday.

In many cases - not all- people have told me they were confused by what they were supposed to get in the Airlifts - which is why we created a blog about it on the Battlefield website so folks can check their inventory against the list. The delivery of the items - straight to your Company - isn’t the best system, and the fact that the items are not tagged/noted/have a little icon showing they were part of the Deluxe offering. This is also part of the conversations we’re having internally (and something I’ve noted with various teams since before January).

The Devs are looking at the invisible player bug as one of the top priorities, with intention to have it fixed in the next main update (less than 2 weeks from now - I know, that sucks but the issue is bigger than a few specific skins. It has to do with the stream rendering of the client. That’s literally all I know about that right now). Team balance - man, I have been pushing for something to address this for a while - mid-round balance, team switch , something. It’s very frustrating, especially if your team isn’t winning and other players quit, then it gets much worse. The P08 issue has been escalated to the dev team, but I don’t have a status update yet. And there have been some core improvements to the anti-cheat tools with the 4.0 update, with more on the way. They’re also working on better reporting - in-game instead of having to use Origin in-game overlay or create a ticket via EA Help. That part will take a bit of time as it requires redesign of parts of the UI.

That sucks. I’m sorry to hear that. Can you share some specs about your PC? Windows version, GPU & Driver date, RAM? Are you using default directories for the install? (Not laying blame on your PC, but this helps them investigate issues.)
