JACK CULVER

  • The unflinching Jack is as dangerous behind a mounted machine gun as with his Escape Axe. Jack completed a dozen missions in the European theater before being reassigned to the Pacific. Always first to volunteer, he has an ability to push squadmates through what they consider impossible situations and is infamous for expending excess ammunition and explosives.
  • Faction: Allies
  • Signature Melee Weapon: Escape Axe

KEISUKE NAKAMURA

  • Inspiring fearlessness in those who fight alongside him, Keisuke is an experienced, tactical, and natural-born commander, who always finds the perfect moment to strike. An authority on the battlefield and a skilled sidearm marksman, Keisuke believes a precision attack is more effective than the largest raid. Beware his skills – and his Hachiwari melee weapon.
  • Faction: Axis
  • Signature Melee Weapon: Hachiwari

Since the TTK megathread is over, may I ask a question here? I understand the damage over range rationale and, although it has never seemed pressing to me, I suppose certain guns do very well at range.

But I can't shake the feeling that "damage over range" is marketing speak for "we're nerfing everything to increase TTK"

Clearly people here have that feeling too.

Since none of us know how TTK will be affected, can you comment about the vision of how it will?

Do DICE devs like the current TTK?

What aspects of current gunplay are worth protecting?

Do DICE decision makers & the community here want the same thing?

I, for one, am convinced that BF devs love & play the game as much as (probably more than) we do.

So what's going on here?

Is there more to the story that we don't see?

The Megathread isn't over: https://www.reddit.com/r/BattlefieldV/comments/dwwqp9/ttk_megathread/

And we'll have more details on the changes as we finalize the update notes. u/PartWelsh will be driving details from the Dev team.

u/Braddock512 How come Ireland isn't a valid country to enter the video contest?

These are the rules provided by the legal team. There could be a restriction at customs or something. I don’t know.

Wait, so this Jack guy is a Marine? Around the time of Wake Island? But is a “veteran” of several European battles?

Who the f*ck at Dice makes this shit up?

The Marines of World War II are best known for their island hopping campaign in the Pacific at battles such as Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Iwo Jima and Okinawa, but they also had a small presence in the war’s other theaters. A Marine brigade occupied Iceland during the early stages of the war, and Marines later served as advisors and trainers during British and American amphibious operations in Africa and Europe. During the Normandy invasion, Marine sharpshooters used their rifles to detonate floating mines and clear the way for Navy ships. At least 50 members of the Corps also served as intelligence agents and saboteurs for the Office of Strategic Services. They included Colonel Peter J. Ortiz, who parachuted into Nazi-occupied France and was later twice awarded the Navy Cross for his efforts in aiding the Resistance. All told, roughly 6,000 Marines took part in the European and African Theaters in some capacity during the war.

Haha, I like how we can tell that this was totally written up beforehand and you were just waiting for someone to say the wrong thing so you could own them, basically.

Nah. I just googled for 2 seconds. That’s why i included the link because i literally copy-pasted directly from the article on History.com. The internet is a wonderful place for information.

I know that, but you would think while working on the Pacific they would do it they least one of the new maps.

What are you replying to? There's 327 comments on this post and your reply is out there with no context. (Just so I know to what you're referring. Thanks!)

Can we get the Pacific maps only breakthrough mode back? Conquest doesn't feel right on those maps.

The current Pacific playlist has both Conquest and Breakthrough. 4 rounds of Conquest, 4 rounds of Breakthrough.

That being said, when we drop Update 5.2, you'll be able to create your own 24/7 Pacific Breakthrough playlist.
