With the level cap increase coming on Wednesday, I was wondering "How long will it take to get all of my heroes to level 1000?"

I did some number crunching and this is what I found:

Keep in mind: This is done on PC and I consider myself to be an above average player. The data below is from HvV. I probably won't do a trooper / starfighter version of this because I don't really play those modes.

Part 1: The XP

How much XP will it cost to get a hero to level 1000? How many matches will it take?

Some data from my own HvV games:

Game 1: 15,641 (Boba Fett on Takodana - Lost)

Game 2: 12,317 (Anakin, Han Solo, and Chewbacca on Takodana - Lost)

Game 3: 18,541 (Chewbacca and Rey on Jakku - Lost)

Game 4: 14,976 (Boba Fett on Jakku - Won)

Game 5: 15,187 (Darth Maul on Bespin - Won)

This averages out to be 15,312.4 XP.

Assuming we're already at the max level (40), we need enough XP for 960 levels.

960 levels * 25,000 XP needed to level up = 24,000,000 total XP needed to reach level 1000.

24,000,000 total XP / 15,312.4 XP per match = 1,567.357174577467 matches

That's roughly 1567 matches to get one hero to level 1000

Part 2: The Time

How much time with this cost me? Note: I forgot to time my initial matches, so I timed the round after Game 5. This gave me ~11 minutes.

1,567 matches * 11 minutes per match = 17,237 minutes total

17,237 minutes = 287.2833333333333 hours

That's 287 hours to get one hero to level 1000.

Part 3: Not just the Jedi, but the Sith and the Blasters too

The numbers before were to get one hero to level 1000. What about everyone else?

1,567 matches * 20 heroes = 31,340 matches

287 hours * 20 heroes = 5,740 hours

Conclusion:

Roughly 31,340 matches and 5,740 hours of gameplay to get all 20 heroes to level 1000. This is going to take a while.

Edit: Sorry if this is messy, formatting is hard.

Just want to point out (even though your post isn't taking a negative position on it) that I truly believe that the increase in level was not meant to be reached by every class. People have simply been asking for months for a level increase and they decided "why not," and just made it really high so that people will always will have something to work for, even if the actual content isn't there.

It's in no way a replacement for new content, and that's why there's not really any rewards for it and why it takes forever.

This is more or less the answer. We made it as high as it could go so that players could, effectively, have unlimited levels. Just like all aspect if the game, we’ll take feedback on it and look at ways to improve it.
